First time sneaking dramabeans from work. Uh oh! Manager is coming this way… Phew.. He went the other way! And it’s only been 2 weeks since I started working. I’m following the path of other beanies
Haha.. LOL and thanks. Great to hear that many people does this because I felt like I did a crime when I sneakily closed the dramabeans tab when the manager came inside.
I was finally getting trained in the childrens department at the library a few days ago and my trainer forgot she was supposed to be training me for like 2 hours. I was SO TEMPTED to come to DB or at least my old friend pinterest (I have whiled away SO many hours on pinterest while at work–all under the umbrella of program planning. What is all of these searches for kdramas? A kdrama program…of course….) but I resisted. I had only been there 5 days. It seemed too soon.
I would say look and see what the other employees do. At the library there are at times hours of downtime when you’re stuck at the desk by yourself, no patrons and nothing in particular to do. Back before I had programming and stuff to do I would email fanfiction to myself and read that at the desk. And then I noticed that EVERYONE had at least one website that they hung out at when they were bored (facebook being the most popular followed by instagram) and I figured as long as I got my work done, my customer service remained excellent and I kept an eye on the building it was fine to go to DB or Pinterest or read fanfiction in my email. If you were tempted you were probably experiencing downtime/maybe a bit bored at work. Don’t beat yourself up over it! Keep doing an awesome job! And not to be all–everyone else is doing it! about it, but if your coworkers pop into various websites every now and again you’d probably be fine.
But then again. I work in the library. Its not life and death in there. It could be more problematic at your job!
WOW! Did you do counselling before your library job? You’re really great when it comes to advices. I’m glad that you’re here to show me the right thing to do. It’s even more amazing how you’re able to consider all angles of the situation. Like you said, I sneaked dramabeans because I was done with my job and everyone else did have facebook on their laptops..

I come on DB whenever I can while at work. I’ve given up on watching dramas though because I get interrupted way too much.

I pretend it’s a matter of life and death to get my daily 20 minutes on the computer (not an office job)

And I’ve been there only for two weeks. I think I should stop doing that. My manager is so kind and caring so I can’t bear to see him disappointed.
