So, I didn’t watch a noona romance like I said I was the last time I was here. I think I was still elbows deep in hip hop beef (kendrick lamar and drake. Are there rap beefs in kpop hip hop? Because I’ve discovered I freaking love a battle. Anyway.). Today I found myself on viki and they had a whole LIST of noona romances that I have never seen before. And since noona romances are my catnip I sat myself on down and hi play on The Midnight Romance in Hagwon and I have a question.
Is the incompetent teacher a murderer? Because I’m at the scene where she meets him for dinner and he gives off strong murdery vibes. My *Rom**Coms* really gotta stop coming with a side of murder.

Girl shut up. He is studying!

I’ve been watching dramas for almost a decade now (that cannot possibly be correct. But I can’t math and I have a horrible memory so. Shrug. ) and I remember not knowing any of the actors because I was brand new. Now I’m like I’ve seen you in this and you in that and there’s something about that that makes me smile.

Is that the same umbrella from PN? Oh lands.

I think the mains have chemistry and other than one scene towards the end of the first ep where she’s all, “you can tell your teacher anything!” it seems like there’s no awkward or weird former teacher/student dynamic.

Also he’s pretty with a lovely smile. Don’t you hurt me drama. This year has been freaking awful.

Hahaha when I watched the first ep of Hagwon, I thought that if the plot went the way of sooooo many dramas, the HS teacher would be the serial killer.

I had a different reaction. I thought he’d go the way of the crazy ex’s in SITR or ONS, not my favorite. But he’s turning out to be such a complex, interesting character. I wish the Teacher’s Unions had watched the whole drama before complaining.

I don’t think I’ve gotten past 6 so I’m not caught up on what’s happening.
