Enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes. And after reading several times that SECRET (now sometimes called SECRET LOVE) would be the perfect enemies to lovers story, I took advantage of the long weekend to watch the drama. It’s a melodrama in its purest form, with buckets of tears being shed. The first few episodes in particular are hard to bear, so I soon only watched the scenes with the two main leads. Nevertheless, I asked myself several times why I was still watching, but somehow I couldn’t get away from it. The love story is very reminiscent of Bodice Ripper novels from the 80s and 90s:
Arrogant, rich man meets kind-hearted (and idiotic) woman who is wrongly accused but endures everything like a martyr, sometimes smiling, sometimes crying. The man wants to make the woman’s life hell because she killed his girlfriend in an accident and committed a hit-and-run (our heroine, however, only wants to protect her cowardly fiancé and has taken all the blame, even though he was the driver). In the process, ML develops stalkerish tendencies, but realises what a pure heart FL has and reluctantly falls in love with her.
In addition to a certain morbid fascination, Ji Sung was also a reason why I persevered to the end.

It’s one of those dramas you can’t stop!!! Ji Sung was fantastic here as a man who is falling in love with the woman he vowed to hate 😅

Ji Sung was so fantastic that I’m now watching THE DEVIL JUDGE. Pure charisma!

Have you watched Adamas?? It’s fantastic.
Devils judge was fun but very questionable towards the end. Still the two men had terrific chemistry.

Ji Sung is fantastic in that. I watched it too mesmerized. You know you should not continue watching but you still do.
