I am watching Captivating the King and I am reminded that my theory is the court maid killed the king, she was sick of being raped. She just didn’t think he would die with his brother there.
I think so, too, although I don’t believe she acted independently. But she clearly loathed the King.
She was sent there by the Dowager Queen, so she’s clearly behind this, and that is why she agreed to change the dead king’s words.
