Beanie level: Entertainer-in-training

Does it bother anyone else that in Family by Choice, Hae Jun’s team only has like 6 players. Where is everyone else?

And where was the coach and bench during the big game? Did the boys self-coach? One foul was called.
I don’t like the way Joon-ho is being treated so shabbily by the siblings.

The basketball aspect is so bizarre, lol. It has bothered me since the beginning.

If meandering filler was a writer, ir would be Love next door. Unnecessarily long and no forward momentum, even if I did cry.

Blackout:

The Chief is DIABOLICAL, he said my son didn’t do it, who cares about the rest of these guys. Woof. Also the actor, TOP TIER. His face showed everything.

@miso2019, I really liked the first two episodes of Blackout. I didn’t expect to either. It reminds me a little bit of One Ordinary Day.

6
6

I did too! Initially was a bit taken aback by the large cast of characters and the pace of the background story in Ep. 1, but by Ep. 2, I was fully engrossed. Was starting to formulate theories about the culprit and looking at every character like 🧐.

I haven’t seen One Ordinary Day yet but I did see the British original and I agree there were definite similarities.

Where are you watching? I was so looking forward to this one but haven’t found it yet…

the darkside drama with a cool. I initially thought there wouldn’t be subs, but they both popped up the next day.

Yes, it also reminded me of that series.

The Auditors: My thought at the end is that, Numbers was better, lol.

Miss day & night: such a terrible last episode. The pacing is off and I thought this was billed as a partial romance. Why spend 90% of this episode on everything except the minimal romance. 😮‍💨😮‍💨

The cameo was the best part of this episode.

    2
    1

Yup the cameo saved the show! It’s the highlight of the ending and oh boy I’m glad I still patiently wait till the end or missed the only good part of it 🤭

Can I drop it now. Half way through 15.
Did they kiss?? A proper kiss?

    2
    2

Would you believe I can’t even remember??? I was so horrified by all the other things the writer made those actors say and do.

Down to the last shot of that last episode, I think I shouted, “OMG, WTF is HAPPENING???” like 5 times in the final hour.

      2

Those last 10 min is what i signed up for.. the cuteness.. the smiles.. sigh..
May be ‘Bad memory eraser’ is what we need now… to erase whatever the heck this drama was.

The Good Partner: Slight spoiler

The way that poor woman has been gaslit her while marriage. The insane abuse he has put her through. This is enraging and terrifying. My God, this is disturbing.

6
1

I agree. Spousal abuse takes many more forms than just physical abuse. No wonder she has essentially gone insane.

Hierarchy: The running joke in this drama has to be the American Football because Why? LMAO

4
13

Who are they playing against? This is silly.

    2
    2

At least in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim they had the characters attending an American high school or college (I can’t remember which) while showing them suited up for it. Doesn’t Extraordinary You also have the kids in American football uniform sometimes, too? I know I’ve seen it more than a couple of times. It’s so silly.

      1
      1

Yes, Extraordinary You was especially egregious, but at least it was only one scene. This takes it to a new ridiculous level.

Rich = western culture in Kdrama.

      4
      1

It is so specifically American, that is why it is weird. Soccer exists, but American football, lol. Smh.

        2
        2

But soccer is already pretty famous in Korea. There is nothing really different with it. I hoped he will continue the fencing.

          2
          0

Maybe it has to do with the aggressiveness associated with it? Cause baseball is also a pretty American sport that is actually played in Korea yet less popular than soccer (I think)

But no matter what, it’s still weird haha.

I wonder who had the idea to include that.

          1
          0

LOL.. and those underage black strips looked like some beauty treatment ; )

    1
    1

I think it’s because it’s very American and people have to pay to have those uniforms. They are elite students, so I guess badminton will not support their ‘supposed’ look.

Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale is a TOP TIER drama and no one can convince me otherwise. I love it, back to basics with this one.

Crash: That scene with Dong Ki and his dad was perfection. Idk if the actors are actually related, but it was just so great.🥰🤣

4
5

I tried to look it up on Asianwiki as I was wondering the same thing but the dad wasn’t listed! It wouldn’t surprise me if they were actually related, from the side profile they do have very similar features.

    1
    2

I tried too, but I couldn’t remember where I had seen the older actor before in order to look up his name.

      1
      1

He was in Dear my friends his name is Joo Hyun and suddenly he is on the Crash page. I think as actors have stage names and some people seem to have their mother’s surname I guess it would be impossible to do it by name alone and so far Google is not helping me.

        1
        1

I don’t think they’re related because usually it’s noted on the page of the actor if his dad or mum is an actor or famous too.

Lovely Runner: The way this drama irks my soul. The writing for Sol is so bad, WTF was episode 13. I can’t even feel bad for her because she brings it on herself. SIGH. I will finish it though.

9
15

That last scene made me flip an imaginary table! So they NEVER met while living literally opposite to each other and going to the same school? Who is meant to save Sol from the crazy cabby the first time? Ugh

    2
    3

I’m just so annoyed. Sigh, episode 14 literally made me want to scream. It took Noble Idiocy to a peak I didn’t actually know possible. I just, SMH, SIGH.

      2
      0

did you not watch the episode?
they didn’t live next door.. she moved out of that neighbourhood

and they were never in the same school to begin with.. she was in girl’s school and him in boys school

      2
      1

Weren’t they wearing the same school uniform, catching the same bus and attend school in the exact same premise? Are we watching the same drama?

        1
        2

No they were always in separate schools. She kept on hovering about his school. Remember way back in episode 1-2 when the boys’ school teacher caught her and made her kneel and raise her arms as punishment.

          1
          0

Looks like we are not watching the same drama…
go back and watch the episodes..

schools are next to each other.. they are not the same… and she also knows that SJ leaves early morning that’s why she never crossed paths with him on the bus stop in original timeline.. SJ had to adjust his time consciously to be able to meet up Sol at the best stop in first time travel timeline

          1
          1

But she was still friends with Tae Sung who went to the same school as him. OMG, I am just realizing how much worse this makes it because she had to work hard to still be friends with Tae Sung and avoid SJ who lived right across the way from her. SIGH.

            1
            0

I didn’t like the reset at all. But with the reset, sol didn’t need saving. She never crossed paths with the killer in the new past…however, she’ll meet him in the new present.

      1
      0

    ha ha.. yes yes

    1
    0

I know we were supposed to feel sad in episode 14, but the thing is that she has been crying for 14 episodes straight. It feels like she’s living the most unhealthy love story ever all by herself. Over and over again.

    4
    2

agree.. and it is not even anyone else’s fault.. not even killers.. she literally can stop this all by herself.. no sympathies for her

      1
      1

Exactly, like even the serial killer she could have stopped, if she stopped to think before doing anything, literally anything. I can’t root for them as a couple because Sun Jae deserves better. She completely removes his agency and does everything by herself and still mess up. I just don’t understand.

        1
        1

She met TS the same way… when he was fighting those guys over cigarette pack .. so that was outside of the school… and then knowing TS, you can imagine he would have followed her more and TS – SJ were never close

But, yes, this does mean that despite everything.. Sol still made it a point to go meet TS and actively intervene so that his life is on track…
          ***************************

          1
          0

I didn’t feel sad because sol’s actions annoyed me. I was not able to fully symphatize with her. In ep 13, she chose to be left behind at the countryside instead of sticking close to the guys…she contributed to 20 yo sunjae death because had she kept close with the guys, went straight home, the killer wouldn’t have met sunjae.

After the reset, she returns to the present…and she still chose to push sunjae away, not even trying to find him or befriend him in the new present. Stick close to him and start to tell him about the killer. Because she’s in the present, she won’t be frozen when she tells him speculative theories about a killer lurking and potentially killing them or him or her. At least make him aware of potential danger. If Sunjae dies again in ep 15, Sol will regret not doing anything earlier.

      2
      1

i think what has happened is…

all this while, the narrative built.. and what sol believes is that Killer is HER destiny and since SJ is involved with her, he gets involved with the killer…

BUT, what this time travel and new timeline is out to show is that the Killer is THEIR destiny… he appears only when SJ and Sol have already interacted…

So Sol needs to get over this self blaming mentality

        *******************************
But none of this makes me tolerable of Sol.. she is still annoying.. very very annoying.. poor writing, trying to fit too many time travels and illogical narratives

Frankly speaking: LMAO, slight spoiler

It is just like that terrible drama without the greatness that was Ji Wan and chef John, except they don’t need them because this drama is actually good.
