Sometimes I forget how much a small kindness can mean to someone.
I was doing some last minute shopping and feeling overwhelmed and also dressed too warmly for the weather and heaters. So also felt kind of hot and icky.
And then a woman walks past and tells me my hair is beautiful.
Then I had to take a bus I don’t usually take and not sure it will get me where I need on time. I barely said anything when the bus driver very kindly explained the route and reassured me.
Those two small to them moments made me feel so much better.
Many a times we may miss the indications that the universe gives us as we are too “busy”. It always reminds me of Dumbledore saying Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it.
Awww that’s so sweet!!
It’s odd, isn’t it? TV ads and society tells us that the holidays–and the days spent prepping for them– is a time of giving, of kindness, of all things good. Yet, more often than not, the holidays will be anything BUT those things depending on our own situations, things that are currently happening– or have happened which we have no control over– and at the end of the day, the holidays don’t feel like the holidays anymore, and definitely don’t feel like anything society tells us it is.
Personally, all of the things we are told by tv ads and society are simply that: Things which we are TOLD and which society dictates the holidays “should be”, but are not necessarily–and definitely not always– what we actually feel nor think.
But to your point, small moments like these DO make a difference and is what I think we need more of, not all of the stuff we are told how the holidays should be. Even then, I think small moments like these are what we need more of daily and regularly, not just during the holidays
You’re always so sweet with your words in your comments and replies to me ♥️ And just like with Beverly’s experiences with the person she encountered, your kindness matters to me in our encounters on here

^^ 👏
You have a wonderful way to express your thoughts. Kindness if for everyday, not just reserved for a few days in a year.
