I teared up watching Jae-hyuk cry his heart out after meeting his father. He was scary, dangerous and made a series of disturbingly bad choices. But, I can’t help feeling for him. Most of it is because of Lee Ji-hoon. I must say, I didn’t like this character initially because it clashed too much with my love for his Woo-won in Rookie Historian Gu Hae-ryung. But, we are at the end and I can confidently say that my love and respect for Lee Ji-hoon has increased multiple levels. He imbued his character with regrets and realisations that helped him become not-too-cartoonish and not a complete villain. I like dramas and characters like these where noone is completely bad and we all need help, understanding and love to keep us sane.

I’m a forever fan from this moment. JH was one of the worst characters ever, and he made him human, vulnerable, someone you would pity because his suffering was so buried inside and so palpable at the same time.
I’m looking forward his new project. He’s won a leading role.
Ohh..the description is similar to how I feel with Han Sun Hwa’s character in Backstreet Rookie. But I think half of it is because of the way the character is written. She seems like a typical 2nd female lead but the drama explores her thought process, and viewers are allowed to see her inner turmoil. She makes bad choices but it all makes sense for her character. I hope the drama doesn’t mess her character up, currently she feels real and human.

I haven’t watched it yet. I stayed away mostly because of the negative reviews. But, show seems to be getting better. Maybe, I’ll binge it later!
