Reasons to watch: In the first of two female-led ensemble period dramas to premiere this weekend — what a coincidence, right? — Kim Tae-ri takes the stage (or tries to) in an all-woman theater troupe. Set in post-war Korea in the 1950s, our country bumpkin heroine sees a performance and her life is forever changed. With Ra Mi-ran, Jung Eun-chae, Moon Sori, Shin Ye-eun, and Kim Yoon-hye (*gasps for air*), there is no shortage of talent in our webtoon adaptation. Our PD is known for the little drama The Red Sleeve Cuff and our screenwriter last hit success with A Time Called You. I’d say we’re in decent hands.

TL;DR: Female-led ensemble drama with acting, singing, and underdog glory

From the promotional materials and teasers, this drama looks visually stunning. I don't have Disney+, but I'm hopeful that there will be a way to watch it. ;)

I really hope this gets good ratings so we have more female centric quality K dramas in the future so the actors can get work across the genres in ensemble shows without having to settle for a side role as a mum character to pay their bills.

Drama land really likes its trends, so we might see this happen. This is definitely one I hope becomes as common as serial killers in rom coms (which can just fade away).
