Drama viewership ratings for the week of October 14-20, 2024

Nothing is certain except death, taxes, and a Kim Tae-ri led drama with double digit ratings.

Seriously. I can't believe it's already double digits. Wow.

Is it the celebration of traditional arts that's driving the numbers? Ep. #3 had an enthralling pansori performance. It seems to have unfortunately simplified the complexity of the source material so I mourn that, but it's also become entertainment for the whole family (as it has for mine), which could lead to big numbers. I wonder what Koreans take on it is.

I'm just sad for Iron Family, it is a good family weekender and I hoped the ratings would go up to guarantee that the next weekender wouldn't go back to awful moms and shouting (or curry 😁) we had before...

Being 8 episodes into a 36-episode show is roughly the same as being 11 episodes into a 50 episode one so I agree that we can now say that this is a good weekender. We had such a heartwarming moment when Mom decided that she too is willing to go to prison for Da-rim's eyes: It has been a long time since a Weekender has delivered such a scene.

IRON FAMILY should be doing better than this. It is actually good but the damage done by the previous weekenders has turned many people off.

DOG KNOWS EVERYTHING is also good and deserves more love but is doing OK.

JUDGE FROM HELL deserves the ratings.

I've only seen till Iron Family #7 (so many weekend dramas!) but I agree it's good. Even if viewers have abandoned weekenders, given its still longer run, it has time to build by word-of-mouth and slowly become a sleeper hit.

"It is actually good but the damage done by the previous weekenders has turned many people off." Exactly!
They had the most faithful viewers for a very long time but took them for granted.

Great numbers for Jeongnyeon and a steady climb in the right direction for The virtuous business. It is a shame Dear Hyeri and Family by choice are in the lower numbers but hopefully they will climb before each series ends.

It's lovely to see A Virtuous Business doing better and better. Let's go women!!

And Iron Family is climbing slowly but climbing. And that's all that matters to me.
