Drama viewership ratings for the week of September 23-29, 2024

In a week with three new shows, Dear Hyeri came in fairly good for ENA, and while Iron Family had an okay start, Dog Knows Everything brought solid weekday numbers for KBS. Black Out faltered a little next to The Judge from Hell, and it’ll be interesting to see how the numbers pan out in the coming week with the former – along with No Gain No Love, Love Next Door, and DNA Lover – coming to an end.

Really enjoyed the first 2 episodes of "Iron Family" , the Grandparents are the best couple on the show so far.

Also Park Shin-hye and her husband both have dramas airing right now, they both look great, marriage and parenthood looks good on them.

Love Next Door - the last few episodes are quite a joy to watch and the drama is now in full swing as a family drama with multiple arcs across families and generations. It’s a shame that the writing was messy and uneven in the first half, and the ‘red herring’ arrangements were unforgivable in clouding our judgement especially of SR. Once her journey was fully revealed, we understand her so much better. Writer-nim seems having a knack on building plots in so many directions without some kind of restraints. I don’t know if I should avoid her dramas in future.

To me, it’s the actors that keep me and I like the fact that it has no chaebol but just ordinary folks and families. Honestly, I am yet to see a chaebol drama without the need to suspend our belief.

I hope people who have been turned off by weekenders at least check out "Iron Family." I don't want to get overly excited too soon, but this was the best premiere of one of these I've seen in forever--great cast, clear thematic and narrative arc, tight writing, and no screeching!

I like many of this writer's works. I should see if I can do 36 hours. I guess it will be better if I live watch it... My first live watch in years...

Yes, no screeching. The writer has not done a weekender before. That may be part of the difference.

I'll try it! I've been waiting and wishing for a good weekender for a long time now. Hope this is it!

It's disappointing that the holiday seems to have reset No Gain No Love's ratings. It was on the road to 6%

Sigh
Well, no matter what, I hope people end up discovering it.

Does that mean episode 14 of Love Next Door was that good? I haven't watched the latest episodes yet but that's quite the jump.

The damage done by previous Weekenders shows in the low ratings for IRON FAMILY. The first two episodes deserved better.

NO GAIN NO LOVE deserves the love it is getting.

DEAR HYERI has not yet found its footing.
