3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards Winners

It’s year number three for the streaming content wing of Korea’s famous Blue Dragon Film Awards.

Last year, The Glory and Big Bet took home the biggies. This year we’ve got no surprises with Disney+’s Moving taking the grand prize (and more!) and Netflix’s Daily Dose of Sunshine racking up the wins, too. Overall, these awards are interesting, since they’re built solely for streaming content and have such a different vibe than the network content we’re accustomed to.

Here’s the list of noms and winners for the drama-specific categories (the awards period ran from June 2023-May 2024).

Best Actor: Happy for Im Si-wan, but sad Ryu Seung-ryong lost again. Byun Yo-han absolutely deserves his nomination, but surprised Song Kang-ho didn't get nominated.

Daily Dose of Sunshine: Happy for Park Bo-young since she was snubbed by Baeksang, and although I dropped the drama before his episode, so happy for Roh Jae-won's nomination because he was amazing in Uncle Samsik.

Tiffany Young absolutely did not deserve her nomination. Her character annoyed me so much in Uncle Samsik. Happy for Jang Da-ah's nomination. She proved everyone wrong with her first performance in Pyramid Game.

Song Kang-ho did joke about getting a newcomer nomination.

Roh Jae-won is excellent in both Uncle Samsik and A Killer Paradox but I haven’t watched Daily Dose of Sunshine.

Why did Tiffany even get a nomination? She’s more like a prop or plot device in US.

Overall, very happy for the recognition of Moving - well deserved!

Not sure what is the criteria for nominating Best "New" Actor / Actress as most of them have done quite a few dramas before. Does it mean this is their first streaming drama.

Happy for Lee Jung-ha's win but why not even a nomination for Zo In Sung. Was actually rooting for Ryu Seung Ryong who totally deserved the Best Actor.
Happy for Geum Hae-na's win too.
