Rain becomes Kim Haneul’s bodyguard in Red Swan

The promotions are rolling for Disney+’s action-melo Red Swan with not just one but four new teasers. The show stars Kim Haneul (Nothing Uncovered) as ex-pro golfer now chaebol family daughter-in-law Oh Wan-soo, and at her side is former police officer turned bodyguard Seo Do-yoon played by Rain (Ghost Doctor).

The first teaser highlights the precarious relationship between the two leads as Do-yoon watches over Wan-soo with concern. He asks her if she’s unhappy, and though she answers in the negative, her expression suggests otherwise. With her life in danger, Wan-soo has no one to trust, but that might change now that Do-yoon has entered the picture and is set on protecting her.

Do-yoon, though, isn’t risking his life for nothing, and his action teaser reveals his ulterior motives for entering the walls of Hwa-in Group. After witnessing the death of his partner while investing chaebol corruption, he vows to uncover what happened, but becoming a bodyguard may pose more danger than expected. Snipers, assassins, and exploding cars await Do-yoon at his new job, but this is only the beginning for our hero.

At the center of all this is Wan-soo who, for reasons unknown, is being targeted. The only one able to save her is Do-yoon, but Wan-soo is unconvinced that someone — especially her family — would hire an assassin to get rid of her. She asks for evidence to back the bold claim, but from the snippets we see of her life, it’s clear that everyone is suspect.

Enter Hwa-in Group — our hero’s target and the cause of our heroine’s problems. At the top is Seo Yi-sook (Knight Flower) as President Park Mi-ran. She launders millions without blinking an eye and buys people’s lives like breathing air. The most likely culprit behind Wan-soo’s current predicament, President Park is more than capable of ordering a hit on someone, and from the way she chucks money at Wan-soo, she clearly treats her daughter-in-law with contempt.

Next in line is Wan-soo’s husband and Hwa-in heir Kim Yong-gook played by Jung Kyeo-woon (You’re Too Much). He wants nothing more than to take over the family business and seems ready to do anything to achieve that goal. Yong-gook maintains a loving relationship with Wan-soo for the cameras, but behind closed doors, his demeanor turns sinister.

Adding to the list of suspects are lawyer Yoon Je-moon (Nothing Uncovered) who seems aware of the happenings within Hwa-in and the ambitious Ki Eun-se who wishes to replace Wan-soo as the face of the group. Of course, there’s no evidence to implicate anyone, and if our heroes want to unmask the culprit, they’ll need to figure out their motive first.

Directed by PD Park Hong-kyoon (Hwayugi) and written by Choi Yoon-jung, Disney+’s Red Swan premieres July 3 and is slated for ten episodes.

This reminds me of The K2 OTP (yes there was only one OTP in K2 in my mind and it wasn't the one with the younger Yoon-a) right down to the rescue from a car crash...

While I'm not very fond of multiple teasers / highlight reels, they just makes one anticipate the scenes in the drama, I do seem to be watching the promotional content for this a bit too much.

Rain said that their thought during filming action scenes was to film action like never seen before and that he shot all his action scenes himself apart from the very dangerous ones.

How come Rain's voice sounds like melted honey. Just hope the bodyguard character of my Ji-hoon Oppa 🥰 has it better than the other one. 🤞🙏👍👏👌
