Here's hoping Park Kyung-soo's upcoming drama for Kim Hee-ae, called Whirlwind, will be better than this overblown soap opera. You have to keep reminding yourself we're talking about a mayoral election here, not World War III.

🤣🤣🤣. I haven't watched the from ep 2 but i expected this. But World War III? You've really watched a political makjang level kdrama.

I gather other folks didn't enjoy this one as much as I did! I think this is what they mean by makjang, right? The villainy of the villains was dastardly, and the goodness of the good guy was truly adorable. The morally grey protagonist had all the character dynamism one could desire. OK, yes, there were several moments when characters laughed bitterly or hysterically in ways that were just plain silly. But overall, it was good fun. The unfolding relationship between the fixer and the labor lawyer she picked to be the next mayor of Seoul was so enjoyableQ Like a bromance, but with women, I loved it.

Binged this series and didn't regret it. Sure, some parts hit makjang levels, but it was skillfully done. A brilliant drama and I'm looking forward to the next season.
