Lee Do-hyun is Ra Mi-ran’s son in The Good Bad Mother

The first teaser has arrived for JTBC’s The Good Bad Mother, featuring Ra Mi-ran (Dr. Park’s Clinic) and Lee Do-hyun (The Glory) in a comedy about family and second chances.

Daunted by raising her son alone and wanting to secure him a prosperous future, for Jin Young-soon (Ra Mi-ran) this meant taking a tough love approach. But while Choi Kang-ho (Lee Do-hyun) did go on to become a prosecutor, he harbors resentment against Mom, and keeps his distance as an adult. That is, until, ye olde accident-of-doom, when Kang-ho suddenly reverts to his child self.

In the new teaser, our duo’s history is cutely told like a fairy tale, with the text appearing over the sequence as a young child narrates: “A long, long time ago, Young-soon came to the village of Jo-woo-ri. We were able to meet her Happy Farm pigs, together with baby Kang-ho.”

We then jump to Young-soon’s sweet relationship with Jo Jin-woong (Entourage, Signal) and they decide on the name, “Choi Kang-ho,” in the hopes that their child will grow to be the strongest and most able.

When Dad is sadly out of the picture, though, Young-soon takes a hardened stance, telling her son: “If you study hard and become a public prosecutor, no one will torment you or look down on you.”

But a grown Kang-ho lands in the police station after a fight and an angry Young-soon demands to know why her son is ruining his life. Kang-ho retorts, hurt, “My life? Where is my life?”

Thankfully, the teaser doesn’t dwell on the angst and our child narrator returns to ask, “Will Kang-ho and Young-soon be happy again?” A text screen soon follows, reading: “Leaving to find lost happiness, The Good Bad Mother’s story.”

When a bedridden Kang-ho and Young-soon meet again, they both shed tears and Mom is grateful: “This is an opportunity from heaven. A chance to start life again.” With Kang-ho finally showing a smile, the teaser closes on the narrator’s final tease: “But, why is it The Good Bad Mother? If you’re curious, come visit! The drama premieres April 26.”

Written by screenwriter Bae Se-young (Life Is Beautiful) with PD Shim Na-yeon (Beyond Evil) directing, JTBC’s The Good Bad Mother will be airing its 14 episodes starting April 26 in the Wednesday-Thursday slot.

Thanks @dncingemma for that listing.
On that list I am waiting for: BLOODHOUNDS (Woo Do-hwan) and D.P. 2 (Jung Hae-in). Both tough guy dramas.
GYEONGSEONG CREATURE (Park Seo-joon) and SONG OF THE BANDITS (Kim Nam-gil). For now both are on my list of upcoming historical dramas but GC may be more horror.

Looking forward to this one as I really like this actress. So far nothing is suggesting this will have any of the elements I don't like in a drama.

What an amazing cast, I love both of them. I get the feeling I'm going to be like watching '18 again' with so much tissue in hand.
