Revenge is going down in The Glory Part 2

A month out from dropping its second half, Netflix’s The Glory has released a new teaser (and a rather dramatic set of character posters, which you can see below). The drama picks up the story of our heroine Dong-eun — played by Song Hye-gyo — and her long-awaited plan for vicious revenge.

The first half of the drama showed us not only the painful backstory, but our heroine starting to bring people in on her plan and start its execution (you can read a review of Episodes 1-2 here). In our concluding eight episodes that comprise Part 2, the rubber meets the road, and if the teaser is any indication, it’s going to get (even more) ugly.

The teaser opens with Dong-eun meeting with her main tormentor Park Yeon-jin – played by Im Ji-yeon (Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area) — who is unrepentant to the end, scoffing over the mere idea that she’s done anything that needs forgiving. Well, that doesn’t sit too well with our battered heroine, and the rest of the teaser amps up the pace – and the tension – as we see cuts of our main players right before all hell breaks loose.

Then, instead of smirking and ridiculing, there’s horror and fear on their faces, and quick cuts of car accidents, fire, creepy smiles, desperate moments, screaming, and more. The copy reads, “Welcome to my hell,” while Dong-eun’s ally Joo Yeo-jung — played by Lee Do-hyun (Melancholia) — threatens someone from behind bars. Then, the teaser comes to a crescendo as we see more of the revenge scheme unfolding, with even more screams and blood and chaos. We end with a drop of blood dripping dramatically from Dong-eun’s face as she says, “Welcome, Yeon-jin.”

Written by Kim Eun-sook (The King: Eternal Monarch) with PD Ahn Gil-ho (Happiness) at the helm, the second half of The Glory drops on March 10.

HOW did I miss this drama? And to think that Kim Eun sook wrote something this gritty and dark, and it flew under the rader? Amazing.

I was just thinking of Im Ji Yeon the other, wondering where she was since I last saw her in High Society. Didn’t even know she was in Money Heist. This looks really interesting but I’m scared I’d just have heartburns from all the righteous anger I’d be feeling while watching this.

That music... It's so perfect! It almost feels like a horror film. The sounds from the clips were perfectly timed, too, like they're part of the track.

I'm glad February is a short month. Can't wait!

First of all, the posters are DRAMATIC! It seems as if they are showing the relationship the main character has with every other character, or rather how they are involved, I don't know, something along that line.
I have a bad feeling (which is a good, satisfing feeling actually) about Yeo-Jin's ending, but I'm going to wait patiently for that part, right now the only person I'm worried about is our Joo Yeo-jung Dr, I'm worried about his revenge.

Do all the posters say "welcome to my hell"? It looks like they say different things.
I wonder if the husband is really going to be of any help to Dong Eun. Even though he's been lied to and cheated on and he now knows just how disgustingly heinous she can be, our villian is still his wife and they, together, have a certain mutually beneficial relationship and image.

I'm confused/intrigued by the inclusion of one of the characters on the posters. Wonder what's going to play out with them.

The captions are different for each poster, depending on the character's relationship with Dong-eun.
Yeo-jung: "This person, she is my salvation"
Hyun-nam: "I was happy because I had a dream"
Do-young: "I don't like saying I don't know but I still don't know" (it probably means he doesn't know what to make light of Yeon-jin's past)

In the posters of Dong-eun's bullies, she's targeting the feature that each of them used to harass and hurt her:
Yeon-jin: her soul that felt glee at each moment [she tortured Dong-eun and others]
Jae-jun: his filthy eyes (maybe he's going to get blinded??)
Sa-ra: her hands which mocked and destroyed [people] (she is likely going to lose the use of her hands)
Hye-jung: her mouth which smiled at the misfortune of others
Myung-oh: his words which led to others' pain (this could mean that his inferred blackmail of Yeon-jin over his knowledge of the truth behind So-hee's "suicide" led to his death)

I love Dong-eun's duality featured in the characters' posters. She's the saint or the merciless avenging angel, depending on her relationship with those around her.
Everyone was either growling or showing their claws in the first part, so I'm hoping that they really draw blood in the second. While deep inside I want Dong-eun to be victorious in every battle, I do hope we get to see fair amount of the bullies' affront.
