Drama viewership ratings for the week of Feb. 20-26, 2023

The steady ratings crescendo we have seen in our weekend slots continues this week, with Agency and Red Balloon ending on huge numbers — Agency’s 16% is particularly impressive. Meanwhile, the weekday slots continue in their lull, with the Wednesday-Thursday slot being particularly quiet. *Justice for Rebmrary!*

Agency is now the fifth highest rated JTBC drama of all time (1. The World of the Married, 2. Reborn Rich 3. Sky Castle 4. Itaewon Class, 5. Agency). Well done, Lee Bo Young...you certainly finished well and showed that senior actors are indeed capable of delivering the ratings.

If you go back to the golden era, it's the same thing. Veterans and well-established actors are the ones who are consistent in bringing in the ratings.
The majority of tv viewers are still the older demographics.

I just started this yesterday and am delighted so far (only a few episodes into the show).
Finally, a strong FL who's going after what she wants and getting it on her own terms! It's so sad to watch what she has to go through with her malevolent male colleagues, but I couldn't help but commend everyone else that supports her. I hope this show ends as robustly as the start!

Ratings are always a reminder that online echo chambers do not reflect the actual preferences of the general public, all the online whining about serial killers and the weird comments about Jeon Do-yeons age and physical appearance have had zero impact on the dramas success and most people seem to like it.

Lee Bo-young is the female version of Namgoong Min, she turned her entire career around with one iconic performance and has been delivering ratings knockouts ever since, her consitency is honestly amazing.

THREE BOLD SIBLINGS has finally reached a normal ratings level for a weekender with some thoroughly makjangish reveals. The viewing public clearly goes for this stuff.

Even though I am unhappy with the plot development in "Crash Course In Romance", I am happy for its high ratings because the actors deserved it. Especially, Jung Kyung Ho, who was terrific with his restrained anger and calm voice while confronting Assistant Ji. The teenage actors are also wonderful.

Rembrary absolutely deserves better, but it's been clear since way before Ep1 that this drama is not a ratings magnet and will never be. Honestly I'm surprised it even aired on TV at all - could've done much better as a streaming-only show.

If not for the actors involved, I'd cheer for Kkokdu to sink even lower so the writer would be forced to reflect on what they did wrong (spoiler - almost everything), but alas...

At least OBY is doing really well on Prime. If ratings won't go up in a week or two... PHS should stay away from tvN after this is over, they clearly don't know how to sell his works to their audience.

I was thinking the same thing about Heavenly Idol - I've been liking it a lot but I can see why it's not going to be a ratings hit or anything. Though, Kkokdu getting slightly higher ratings than Heavenly Idol...idk how I feel about that

Kkokdu is airing on public channel though, it's simply easier to get higher numbers there. If we apply the general x2 rule (1% on cable is as good as 2% on public channel and so on), it's clear who's really doing better here.
