Lee Sung-kyung longs for revenge in Call It Love

In the second teaser for Disney+’s upcoming revenge melodrama Call It Love, we step into the shoes of our betrayed heroine Shim Woo-joo, played by Lee Sung-kyung (Shooting Stars). Her home has just been cruelly snatched away from her, and it’s all she can do to look forlornly on as the moving truck drives off, leaving her in the dust.

But Woo-joo is no pushover. Forsaken by her evil stepmother, she’s determined to exact revenge — she’ll pay back the pain that has been inflicted upon her. That means zeroing in on her stepmother’s son, Han Dong-jin, who’s played by Kim Young-kwang (Somebody). What better way to get close to — and get the better of — her nemesis than by approaching the person she treasures most?

Of course, Woo-joo’s plan doesn’t work out quite the way she expects. Not only is Dong-jin a capable chairman who maintains his composure in the face of a screaming competitor, he’s also attractive and sensitive to boot. As time passes, Woo-joo can’t help but lower her guard around the gentle and kind Dong-jin, thus throwing a wrench into her vengeance. Will Woo-joo act upon her growing feelings, or will she cling tight to her promised payback?

The teaser also offers us a glimpse of our supporting cast, whom I’m certainly excited to see. Sung Joon (Island) plays Yoon Joon, Woo-joo’s best friend with a warm and affable personality. In contrast, Hani (Hit the Spot) wears a melancholic expression as Kang Min-young, Dong-jin’s ex-girlfriend who still harbors feelings for him. Last but not least, we have Kim Ye-won (You Are My Spring) as Shim Hye-sung, Woo-joo’s older sister who always has her back.

Directed by Lee Kwang-young (No, Thank You) and Kim Ji-yeon, with scripts written by Kim Ga-eun, Call It Love is slated for a February 22 premiere.

It’s KYK, so I don’t care how boring this trailer is, I’d obviously watch.

But also, the editor needs to be fired asap. What’s with the lacklustre, generic and cold trailer? It’s not warm or feel-good, but it’s also not over the top crazy. It’s a mediocre in between type trailer. This drama is supposedly old school - where is the screaming? Truck of doom? Evil laughter? Ugh. The things I choose to watch for some actors… this seriously better be decent.

Breaks my heart to miss him but Disney still doesn’t stream kdramas in the US, fools that they are.

I anticipate hours spent fiddling with the color balance on my screen, if they don't do something about it before the premiere. If I wanted la vie en rose, I'd have moved back to France.

Disney+, feh. My preferred dark-side streaming sites have disappeared, perhaps forever, so I'll need to find a new one to watch this.

I’m going this side because it seems dark. Reason to watch are because the characters seems pitiful, painful, miserable and alone. I’m twisted woman.

The pink filter really bothers me too. And it makes everyone look unflattering. It almost looks like someone is pirating a drama?

And I don't get why this revenge drama is using a poster with a slice-of-life feel?

I remain inordinately excited for this pinkish drama of longing and failed revenge.

I'm not afan of director. And the visual also make it less convincing. It scared me it will be another lackluster drama due to the director. thriller disney+ like grid is so underwhelming because the underwhelming directing. What convince me is Lee Sung Kyung's acting which will convince to check it out.

Is it just me or do other people think the poster looks like a promo for the Korean version of Friends?

Tbh, the poster didn’t fit the trailer and plot. It is too bright.

👆This misleading is becoming too much of an issue lately (looking at you Summer Strike) so I look at all the info that comes out as somewhere along the way there is usually something that when you look back you can see was a cryptic clue.

Show’s trying to scam us! They look so happy yet No One is smiling in the teasers. Or maybe they were depressed cos they found out about the pink filters.

Weird? This a kdrama we are talking about! Fauxcest has been staple in classic kdramas lol

The plot of Autumn in my Heart is wild. There’s also Love Rain that features the loving your potential step sibling dilemma
