Everyone is doing well or in character except for Gaus. Truth be told, I hope the quality of the show increases as the series progresses as it hasn't settled in quite well for me yet. I don't want to watch this with a draaaag.
More people should tune in to the Empire. I want it to sustain this jump.
Is One Dollar Lawyer the next EAW ;) ?

I am disappointed in the poor showing for GAUS ELECTRONICS.

THREE BOLD SIBLINGS should be doing better but dramatically the show is off to a slow start, so the lower ratings (for a weekender) are not too surprising.

Way too many shows competing on Saturday.

ONE DOLLAR LAWYER is entertaining. THE EMPIRE less so.

Agreed most of my watching is over the weekend waiting on subtitles to come through. I love that three bold siblings has gone all out on the Ajumma front so the older female actresses can pay their bills this year there’s a whole cultural centre class full divided into waring camps behind the two grandmother’s to the main leads. I expect the ratings to climb as they battle it out on the comedy side and as the evil in laws.

I feel bad for Gaus too.

Gaus Electronics feels more like an OTT show than a cable show, and it's very much not a Fri-Sat show.

Wow, a KBS weekender went under 20%. I can understand why though. Weekenders are always lower budget but this feels really low budget for some reason. Too much time spent on flashbacks with bad wigs and 40 year olds playing 20.

I'm sad The Golden Spoon lost ground this weekend.

I must say, Nam Goong Min is a force to be recon with. Almost every drama of his has been a superhit so far. Although he is my favorite Korean actor (He is a total package in himself = Talent+good looks+cool) , I didn't realize he was this popular in Korea. I am so glad.

Nam Goong Min has such an inspiring career... He has been stuck as a SML in low rated rom coms for ages and when it seemed like he would never get out of them, he took a role as a villain in another rom-com starring an idol as a ML. By no means should it have worked but it did.

I sincerely cheer for NGM to have a long lasting great career. After all, he worked >10 years to get where he is.

I still can recall NGM’s acting from that villain role but I’ve completely forgotten everything about the ML. It was probably the only time in dramaland I didn’t want the villain to be a villain, except that his portrayal of the revealed bad side was also so well done.

He is the most memorable character for me in Remember- Son’s War. I think his role might be one of the most evilest characters I’ve ever seen in Kdramaland, but he made me emphasize with his character. I know right from that moment, this actor will have a long career in front of him.

Same. I think it’s inspiring for other actors who feel stuck in their career. You never know when that opportunity to hit it comes. He’s such an inspiration! Slow and steady wins the race! Also an example of how a second lead or villain role led to his breakthrough, he got nom’d at Baeksang for Remember. He took that risk, and it paid off. Congrats to him for his marriage as well!

Even when I don’t watch any of these shows, I can see the power of NGM through the rating numbers. He really is a force to be reckoned with.

Ever since chief kim, he had the public's goodwill and hasn't disappointed since. I hear his recent wedding news was well-received too.

Oh thank you dear. I can access HiTV in my country 🙌🙌🙌

Yes, it's that or hotstar. However, not all countries are available, some of my friends use VPN and their hotstar/+ account work just fine to watch the drama.

I’m most interested in the 2nd ML, who wanted to switch lives with the poor ML. That’s interesting to me, and the actor who plays him is someone I feel will break out in the next few years.

Interesting that the two shows with a lot of attention right now are One Dollar Lawyer and Little Women. I can definitely see anything of Namgoong Min's becoming a hit, but I haven't been impressed to try Little Women yet. Is it good?

I watched the first two episodes but dropped it, read recaps, then jumped back in at episode 8. It’s really interesting now that the sisters have shown some character development.

Good to know, maybe I'll follow suit. I have a friend who's really loving it, but we tend to have rather different opinions on what makes a good drama ahaha

Assuming you know about the sketchy options, for the legal one, for golden spoon, it's available on disney+ depending on the country, or all countries if you use VPN.

Oh no, definitely won't recommend them for the work laptop. I hear adblocks work really well with those sites but I wouldn't risk it when it's work related.

Hi! What about for smart tv?

I wish Law Cafe had had stronger premiere episodes; I feel it’s improved a lot since then but it put a lot of people off (I mean it’s doing well in its slot and all but still).

Same. It’s a romcom with the tropes, but the characters and their relationship is heart fluttering. I find the characters quite memorable. This affirms to me Lee Se Young’s acting even more. It’s a bit surprising given Lee Seung Gi being a known name for ages to not bring in what is expected of him. But the context is Mon/Tue dramas tend to do lesser than Fri/Sat which is a pot of gold slot for ratings.

KBS also has been steadily declining too, minus 1-2 shows. Ironically, last year Police Academy and Kings Affection got solid ratings of 8-12%. This year, Law Cafe has got them their highest ratings for weekday. It’s a soft success, but perhaps 8% would be solid number for the finale?

Last year KBS had solid ratings. Royal Secret Agent, River Where The Moon Rises and The King's Affection all broke past 10% while Youth Of May, Dali and The Cocky Prince and Police Academy had decent ratings and good audience feedback. This year KBS is in ratings hell. The Mon-Tue slot is its PRIME slot since Wed-Thurs is a dead end for ratings.

KBS did ok last year the more I think of it. One thing, Crazy Prosecutor, got 5%, the highest ratings they got for Wed/Thu since Jinxed at First. Oof is all I can say.

KBS also had a subpar year in 2020 too. It seems like they can't retain their audience, unlike SBS. MBC cut Mon/Tue slot b/c it did so badly for them. Wed/Thu used to be a prime slot. I can see Curtain Call doing ok numbers, and that's their last drama of the year.

I wish it had been better too. I don't how exactly it could've been better received but deserved better.
