Adamas: Episodes 11-12

It’s another wild week for Adamas with huge announcements, betrayals, and long-hid truths revealed. The rules of the game have totally changed and our characters’ cards are out in the open — but somehow it’s even more tense and harder to trust people than ever before.

EPISODES 11-12 WEECAP

Adamas: Episodes 11-12

There’s far too much to cover this week (and to swoon over) so I’ll skip the preamble and get us right back to the Haesong 80th anniversary party. It doesn’t go as planned. For anyone.

Our handsome Woo-shin has one of several charged encounters with Hye-soo this week, but soon he’s off on his mission. Thanks to an incredibly lame “distraction” courtesy of Dong-rim, and some careful pre-planning around the security system with Tae-sung, Woo-shin sneaks away from the party to steal the adamas for a second time. But OMG, it’s like an instant replay. The case is empty, and Woo-shin is so crestfallen it would be sad if it wasn’t so threatening: there’s a newspaper in the case from the day Lee Chang-woo was taken in for the murder. Someone knows his game…

Adamas: Episodes 11-12 Adamas: Episodes 11-12

Woo-shin heads back to the party (barely making it outta there, but with Hye-soo helping) and he sees a familiar face. It’s Soo-hyun, who arrives flinging his invite around and marching right up to Chairman Kwon in his totally-not-black-tie outfit.

But Dragon Lady Kwon’s surprise event is about to start. And no, it’s not a piñata full of rose petals for her beloved chairman. She takes the stage and opens the infamous suitcase we know holds the adamas. Then she takes it out and wields it over her head like an Amazonian warrior, eventually pointing it at Chairman Kwon himself. She accuses him of all the murderous and terrible things he’s done over the decades, and announces that the adamas is a murder weapon. “I’ll expose your true demonic face!” she screams.

WOW. I knew Woo-shin got to her, but I didn’t think it was going to escalate quite this dramatically. Important to note that Chairman Kwon barely blinks an eye in the face of this very public string of accusations. He merely says that the police should be alerted that they found the thief that was after the adamas.

Adamas: Episodes 11-12 Adamas: Episodes 11-12

While all this is going on, Seo-hee is enduring what becomes an over three-hour ordeal with a bomb strapped to her and an EOD team working painstakingly to dismantle it around her. All the while her hand has been duct-taped — thanks to Hyuk-pil — to the detonator to prevent her finger from shifting out of fatigue… and also to help prove that she’s not a suicide bomber but a victim.

Like so many Adamas plot lines, this bomb story arc has a half dozen permutations — all fantastic – and eventually the team realizes that Seo-hee is holding a remote control, not a detonator, and that the target isn’t the SIH, but a populated market where the slimy Candidate Hwang is currently campaigning.

Adamas: Episodes 11-12

We only get to enjoy a brief conversation with our twins in the same forest scene before Soo-hyun heads off to save the day, Seo-hee, and the SIH. And also Candidate Hwang, whom he really does save by preventing him from evacuating the threat zone into his K-pop van (which is where the bomb is actually secreted).

While Soo-hyun is busy with that, Woo-shin has also left the mansion (or, has been allowed to leave), and he follows the adamas to the police station where he comes face to face with Team Leader Lee who seems to be waiting for him. It’s tense as heck, and while Lee pins our boy to the wall, he smashes the “diamond” against it, thus telling Woo-shin — no words needed — that it’s been a fake all along. He then tells Woo-shin the only reason he’s been allowed to live is to locate the real one.

Woo-shin might be losing hard, but he hits the fire alarm in an epic hero moment; Lee slams him against the table, unconscious, before escaping. When he wakes up, Woo-shin’s shock is palpable.

Adamas: Episodes 11-12 Adamas: Episodes 11-12

But this is Adamas, and we have a bunch of other reveals to go before the end of the episodes! The next one is that Chairman Kwon knew the adamas was fake all along (remind me never to be a jeweler) — and wow, he really played the long game. He kept Lee Chang-woo alive and in prison for so many years, and essentially worked up this entire plot — everything we have seen unfold thus far — in order to get the Song boys to find the real adamas.

I like this as a reveal, but it’s not at all unexpected, since the Evil Chairman trope is every screenwriter’s favorite. But there’s still a lot of room for more entanglements, so we’ll see where things go from here. Not that I think he’s not evil.

Adamas: Episodes 11-12 Adamas: Episodes 11-12

The bomb situation is dealt with, but the SIH has a giant mess on their hands since it’s been made to look like an inside job. But more important is this Seo-hee/Soo-hyun relationship! While she was kidnapped, Soo-hyun was distressed to the point of choking up, and it might not have been the point of the scene, but when Seo-hee later wakes up in the hospital with Soo-hyun hanging over her, I was swooning hard. What a fierce duo! I love them.

Chairman Kwon has successfully suppressed all the news-worthy events that occurred during the party, but when he summons Sun to the mansion and she spills the beans on the whole suicide bomber fiasco, Chairman Kwon is furious. I really don’t know how he deals with having Hyun-jo as a son.

Adamas: Episodes 11-12

But Sun was at the mansion for another reason. We find out that she got a mission from the chairman himself, and when Team Leader Lee inquires what it was — well — it was him. And as he chokes on the wine Sun poisoned, he realizes it a fraction of a second too late. I’m not particularly sorry to see him go, but it’s rather brutal to watch how all these baddies turn on each other so fast.

Speaking of turning, Hye-soo is all over the map of late, and seems more committed than ever to exposing the chairman’s crimes. But first she gets the shock of her life — so many shocks this week — when Hyun-jo finally and tauntingly admits that he was the one that killed Min-jo.

And sure enough we see a flashback of a stricken Chairman Kwon grieving over his beloved youngest, while simultaneously commending his oldest on getting rid of his enemy. We also later learn that he “punished” Hyun-jo himself by keeping Hye-soo around to torment him. Well, if it wasn’t clear before, these people have lost all humanity.

Adamas: Episodes 11-12

Well, that was the end of what Hye-soo could take, it seems, and she first talks to Dragon Lady Kwon at the precinct and tells her that she’s going to do what she couldn’t: see to it that the chairman and Haesong are destroyed. Then, later, we see this in action when Hye-soo approaches the chairman and requests that he fulfills the “gift” once promised to her father (i.e., the death of whomever she wishes). In yet another thrilling reveal, it’s Hyun-jo’s name on the slip of paper, but the father refuses. The two strike a new deal.

And then, finally, it’s Soo-hyun’s turn for his shocking reveal — everyone has had at least one this week — and he shares an important conversation with his brother. Woo-shin is sitting staring at the giant action figure (come on, guys!) and slowly but clearly tells Soo-hyun that their real father is Lee Chang-woo.

Adamas: Episodes 11-12

This drama is crazy, right? Even though this week mostly delivered reveals of info we already knew to characters that didn’t, it’s still electrifying to see it all come together. The stellar acting doesn’t hurt either.

With two more weeks to go, it feels like everything is tightening. So much of the game is out in the open now, and we get to look forward to our twins’ next challenges: for Woo-shin, it’s finding out where the real adamas is hidden (and dealing with Hye-soo whom he can or cannot trust); for Soo-hyun, it’s defending Lee Chang-woo as his attorney (because he unceremoniously quit his job to do so).

I love pretty much everything about this drama (well, except how the story has handled Sun), but I think one of my favorite things is that as the story unravels, so much of the ground we stood on has disappeared. In the end, if our guesses are right, the boys have had the adamas within their grasp for the last 22 years, and that packs a glorious, gut-wrenching punch.

I guess at this point of show , I can declare that I will be fangirling Ji sung ❤️ from now on.
His expressions when twins saw eachother at ceremony!! I loved every moment of Ji sung in this drama. He pulled both the characters flawlessly.
And most importantly, he looks so hot at 45!! 🥵

At this nail-biting point, my only prayer is no twin should die.
I have this nagging feeling that one won't make it to the end of all this. But I want them to both make it out alive.
The world can burn to the ground but please, keep the twins alive. Especially Woo-shin.
Also, I have decided, the actress portraying Sun was not the best choice. She looks and sounds more like an annoying teenager people let get away with things than someone who they are afraid of.
This is the only weak point of this wonderful drama with so many lightening bolt twists you have to look out for with open eyes just to keep up with.

Yeah! The story has always been a little more favourable to Wooshin than Soohyun.
I truly hope they won't make him pay for this at the end.

The feeling started when they made Soo-hyun and So-hee's bond a little deeper. Then with almost trying to kill him and not actually doing so.
Then Woo-shin has always been the one less protected in that house of Doom.
I fear for him every episode.
His intense scenes really raises my blood pressure.

lol I've been scared since episode 1 (after looking up the word Adamas as per the Greek myth) for either/both twins pffft. To kill one off when we've had SCRAPS of them together would be cruel, but we'll see 😭

Yeah, exactly. I can not picture Sun as a an assassin. I think they should have chosen a mature character with stringer build. The woman in SIH team was a good fit to her character. The question is, whi would we prefer to portrait Sun?🤔

An actor's portrayal can make or break a character.
The actress tries to look intimidating but all I see is a pout and bored expression. I have seen actresses with the same build go from cute to intense without batting an eyelash. I just think she was a miscast.
And I know it's bad to say this after she got a lead pulled from her feet for her last project (AoS). But she isn't cutting it for me here.
So sorry to the actress😭. Don't mean to be this blunt.

Nah! No one likes Sun. The character is not written well and the actor being a rookie is not helping it. Sharing screen with other strong actors is highlighting more of her weakness in portrayal, but the director is also to blame for not guiding her.

I think Sun is weak, but I don't think I hate her as much as most of the rest you seem too lol.
However, I think the fact that they have essentially a Family Assassin is amusing.
Ah yes, the butler, the housekeeper, the secretary and the secretary's sister ... the assassin. That's a fun/funny dynamic to me. She could've been done SO well too.

@researcher as my handle would suggest (Sicarius means assassin in Latin), I've done A LOT of thinking about what can make a female assassin believable.
I think like the others say, it more comes down to writing and acting. If she only used guns, her build wouldn't really be a problem; if you want this willowy wraith like creature to be a deadly killer (because that's clearly the aesthetic or archetype they were aiming at), then you have to give her a fighting style that makes that believable and fitting- e.g. poison and brains over hand to hand fighting, up the creep factor like a bajillion percent, and make the way she captures her victims more about brains, AND then you can have the violence.

6

@sicarius had it been they've even shown her doing some heavy lifting and pilates, even if it's just one scene, then it would have been more believable because I find such builds interesting - small and dangerous. That's what you do with dangerous but with small build physique. You don't owe it to the viewers, but it gives you credibility. How she overpowered Prosecutor Song's co-worker and beat him into pulp without showing some journey afterwards is🤦🏽😅😅. Are we meant to just take it like that. And yes, it doesn't help that there's nothing giving off brawns strength in her at all. The writer could have gotten something interesting with her build but they are just leaving it to the actress's whims and now it comes off as pfff.

4

@jerrykuvira
Ya, you're right- I didn't go into all the nuance obviously - but such builds ARE super interesting, I agree!
(Although, the actress doesn't have like, anY muscle mass, ... so it'd only add credibility to a point 🤭)
Honestly, I think there's more wiggle room than one thinks, to get this kind if thing feeling right, you just have to know what you're talking about and dealing with, and, a lot of her actions scenes have pretty easy fixes, imo. But I'm not the stunt director so... 🙃

3

I myself do not have anything against the actress or her acting. I think SUN is seen as an annoying character by others and the film givrs this to us. She is annoying. No doubt ... It's just I can not connect her annoyance to assassination. So yeah, as others said, more athletic scenes and guns would have done the job in convincing me

0

I am terrified too. Woo Shin better make it alive. everyone please make it alive. Twins and reporter.

And yeah. Sun is annoying. I am just waiting for her to die. Even her sister is scared of her? Hope someone kills her soon.

Ms Kwon is always good for a surprise.

But I'm slowly losing track of who is sincere with their apparent allies and who is probably playing a double game. Especially with Hye-soo I'm no longer sure. In any case, she would have no qualms about throwing Woo-shin to the wolves if it would achieve her goal.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I'm on my toes throughout.

Take me wherever you want with your story Adamas. I'll follow you.

At least Team Leader Lee is gone, for now. That man has invincibly wrecked more havoc than I can count.

Chairman Kwon is one...I don't even know what to say...Yi Seong-gye of Joseon. Couldn't bring himself to kill Po-eun, he was having conflicted emotions of grateful and really sad that he died, and then punished who did the killing for him. The only difference is Po-eun wasn't Yi Seong-gye's son. Chairman Kwon is one hell of a father. I really wish to emphatize with him but I don't want to.

That can't be the last of Dragon Lady Kwon. She should still have another thing up her sleeves. It's too early for her to be pivotally gone already.

Hye-soo. Hye-soo. Hye-soo.👏🏻👏🏻. Give 'em hot for them thinking you're a chess pawn piece. Show 'em that you're a player.

Me this week - screeee. What!!! Shook. OMG! Swoon. whattt!! Noooooo! Screeee. Of course. Gasp. Efffg. Shiaaaa. Screw them all.

(I also think I know where the Adamas is now).
wow! everything is out in the open. Chairman Kwon! Wow. I knew he is evil. But seeing him kill a jeweler for telling him a fact. Wow.

just like that Lee is gone! Wow. That wine moment was actually kinda well done.

The bomb detonating sequence was so well done! I love the reporter-attorney (no more prosecutor!) duo.

Dragon lady Kwon! Wow. Really??!! I thought she pulled a dumb move. Hardly a solid evidence to get chairman. You would think she had more on him but apparently not.

Also, I love Hyo-See. I enjoyed her and chairman’s conversation the most. I felt that he knew all along that she was smart and capable.
He probably will give her the the company if she gave him a grandson. (I misunderstood the gift as a heir. Lol. ) these ‘heir’ obsessed chaebols have messed my head.

How many more are dying? I think Kang has been in danger. will dragon lady make it alive? Probably not.

Thanks for the recap. Enjoyed reading it, as always.

@missvictrix Either you must be a genius or know korean or have better subs because the subs only mentioned "to give a name". Your recap of this scene cleared up my confusion😅😅

If anyone did not get horrified watching the chairman shoot the jewelery making guy, they sure will on seeing him appreciate his elder son for killing the younger. A total looney guy.

All these riches are so stupid to think their servants would be loyal to them🙄🙄 Everyone works for money and the same goes for Team A. Lee is definitely not dead and he will join Changwoo to defeat chairman or take down other antagonists like Sun/Chief Jung. I can sense the chaos in Ep 14/15.

The only Sun scene I enjoyed was her threatening her sis, secretary Yoon😂😂.

Well that resolves my nitpick, so Chairman Kwon orchestrated this whole thing huh
Still crossing my fingers that it’s Lady Kwon who finally kills him tho

Hmmm Hye-soo’s multiple alliances is concerning, I love her but I think it’s going to backfire and now I’m concerned for her safety

Woo-shin my man! Can I fall in love with you more *sigh*
I love his quiet brooding stares but gosh darn his methodical and quick on his feet thinking is so damn sexy

My favourite scene was between him and Team Leader Lee

Woo-shin might not be good at physical combat but oh boy can he still hold his own He’s got them smarts he does my very capable capable man 😍😍😍

I am late because I was taking a few days off dB and only got to BOTH of these last night.

What with the reveal that the Chairman himself lured Woosin to the Mansion, I can't help but think there are a few more little cracks and plot holes because of that, but I am also not sure if I can keep track of them all to fully care. I might go into them more below. (which will probably reveal that I do care enough to be bothered them lmao)

Still enjoying the show though despite these cracks though; I thought the bomb incident was really well laid out. I love Seohee for being so smart and capable under crisis, with a literal bomb strapped to her chest. She basically did all the SIH's work for them, figuring out that she wasn't the target, that the detonator was a remote, etc etc. I really like how well her and Soohyun work together and their scenes were my favourites of the week.
Seohee starting to loose her cool a bit but then Kang puts her on the phone to Soohyun, and there's this aching relief in his voice, and then she's like "are YOU ok?!" and he's like tripping over his words, all "how is tHAT IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW you're caring about mE???". Followed by their scene in the hospital. Aiyooo love these two. 🥺

Well okay then. Hahaha.
Do you perhaps skip it because because it has less connection to the others? Or for something else? I don't know.
But it's such a lovely book, truly. It's a simple a to b quest adventure with a simple goal but so much learned on the way. I LOVE the horses, they're a riot. Shasta and Aravis have a bickering tolerance of each others existence to fast friends (to lovers but only in the footnote lmao) relationship. You get Edmund and Susan and Lucy briefly as adults which is honestly quite fun. I love Edmund so much. And there are TWINS MISSVICTRIX and they swap places unlike our Jisungs have yet to do hahahah.
The colours and descriptions of Calormen and Archenland and Narnia are so rich and vivid, honestly I love that you get to explore more of the Narnia world through it. The lessons learnt are hard but poignant, in true Narnia fashion. Oh plus the ending so funny.
And there's one scene with Aslan in particular that is just outstanding (hard to really say that it's more than any other book because YOU know how it is but yeah).
Idk if I did it justice because I was trying to avoid spoilers and all I can do is gush rn hahaha, but there.

1

@sicarius Okay, okay you convinced me! I really have no reason why I always skip it, and no excuse either ;) I guess it's time to change that! (Haha on the twins joke!)

Okay so bear with me if this seems to go round in circles- it’s me trying to figure out wtf is going on

Lee Changwoo worked for Kwon for many years until he found out his woman was pregnant and he wanted out. (Kwon says he didn’t know it was twins- to what point in time is that relevant?)

> I couldn't work out if he was stealing from rich people to bring them down as they were subsequently exposed to eliminate Kwon's rivals, or if he was doing that on the side and Kwon found out.
Kwon says the only way out is death, but must've really liked him so gave him and out by way of prison (kinda seems like a double edged sword. Yeah you get out but you have to wait 15 years to see your son/s).

But Lee Changwoo upon getting out of prison obviously had other ideas, and steals the Adamas pretty much immediately. (Why- revenge???? something else)

Kwon finds out, sends Lee to kill him, Song is visiting Lee Changwoo in the meantime, presumably to update him on the kids, gets killed instead, they pin the death on Changwoo and promptly send him back to jail.

--> Here's where I get tangled, and it might just be how they showed this, maybe I just understood wrong originally, but it was distracting me these episodes quite a lot so-

When we first find out about the second Adamas, we're led to believe the Team Leader Lee has known about this for years, but hasn't told the Chairman. In fact, there were a lot of things he didn't tell the Chairman (like the connection between the twins and their father and that Woosin is at the house.)

But NOW we find out that the Chairman already knows that Woosin is Lee Changwoo's son, and that 3 months ago when he found out the Adamas was fake (I checked the time card- he does only find this out 3 months ago), he orchestrated the whole thing to bring Woosin to the Mansion to… eventually get him to find the REAL adamas, that Lee Changwoo obviously is not giving up on his own.

> Seems like a pretty drawn out process to get to that point, and I’m not really sure why, I guess Kwon wanted him to try and steal it himself, and then pull the drop on him, although I’m not gonna lie, this seems more than mildly inefficient, and you could’ve just threatened him with his brother in the first place…?

I am also confused about what the Chairman's actions and knowledge are, vs Team Leader Lee's, and then also how Woosin found out about the Adamas and the murder weapon and the SIH agents in the first place.

What did I miss? Did Kwon feed him that (the Adamas being the murder weapon) to lure him to the mansion? That would make sense, but that wasn't what was implied; Hyesoo sent him the letter, his mother told him about Lee Chang Woo, and someone invited him to the mansion for a reason (Kwon). But Woosin himself seems to have been looking into this and planning this for ages as well.
How did he find out about the Adamas? Has that been revealed and I’m remembering wrong? Or has that not come up...

3
10
reply

Required fields are marked *

... up yet? Or do I just go with the implication in THESE episodes that the Chairman would’ve lured him with that specifically?

But then there’s Team Leader Lee-
Lee finds out they're Changwoo's sons, switches from trying to kill (see my comment from a couple of recaps ago), Woosin to Soohyun, and goes to confront Changwoo about the real Adamas.

But HERE, now, he confronts Woosin, seemingly at the behest of the CHAIRMAN, which implies that he was working all along for the Chairman in regard to the real adamas and the twins, but THAT doesn't line up with his previous actions towards either Changwoo OR the twins -

- where he was being sketch towards Kwon, and also seemed to be the only one to know about the fake Adamas previously, and he only found out about the birth secret recently himself… whereas the Chairman only recently found out about the Adamas, but seems to have known about the twins and their father since… well actually… since when? Since Song Soonho was killed? All along? Also recently? That information isn’t actually given to us –

- so did he just deliver this message like a good servant, and had his own agenda the whole time? Did Kwon know that and kill him not for the bomb incident but from keeping him in the dark about the real Adamas? If so, what was his real motivation and agenda, especially regarding Changwoo?

Because why keep Changwoo alive for 22 years if you’re the Chairman, and you don’t know that the Adamas is fake? Because it’s convenient to pin a murder on him and send him back to jail where he can’t bother you? But if you don’t know about the fake adamas then I’m not sure why that’s especially the better option than just killing Changwoo as well as the muck up with Song Soonho?
It’s not like these people are afraid of cleaning up after making gigantic messes and need the least suspicious option or something. They have the power to just make people disappear.

Ahhhhhhh Team Leader Lee seems to be my weak link here, and his actions to me make the least sense.
I also keep tossing up between feeling like I just missed something that was said, or implied regarding all this, and the show actually only THINKING it makes sense.
Help. Haha

I would completely separate Team Leader Lee's actions until the moment he was "tested" at the fishing pond by Chairman Kwon.
Up until that moment it is obvious that he has been hiding that the Adamas was fake + other things from the chairman and when the chairman finds out about the bombing situation he tells Hyun Jo that he has been played by the team leader. Which makes me to think that the chairman has been suspicious of his actions for a while.

Lee Changwoo asked team leader Lee in prison if he think the Chairman has forgotten about him and team leader was truly shocked. It seems to me after this episodes' reveal that the chairman somehow reached out to Lee Changwoo after finding out that the Adamas was fake or he may have started watching him after Min-jo started snooping around Changwoo's case.

So it looks like the chairman let Team leader Lee on to his "plan" to find the real Adamas after the test by the pond.
As for how Team leader Lee found out the Adamas was fake... It's still a mystery although form the flashback after Changwoo's release from prison where Team Leader Lee met him it looks like the Team Lee is offering him a deal to steal the Adamas. So they might have been planning it together before things went south and Changwoo got betrayed.

I totally agree that the Chairman's plan to find the real Adamas by bringing Woo-shin to the mansion looks weird because he could have gone about it a hundred of different ways...

Oh I forgot about the flashback about stealing the Adamas between those two. That definitely adds something more to his motivations which I've been confused about for a while haha. Thank you.

You're also right that there was probably a shift after the fishing lake scene, and that there had to have been a moment where the chairman roped him in.

But I think I just find the jumps between these scenes frustrating because we haven't actually SEEN that, nor do we quite know what Lee was up to all along, and now he's "dead", so I'm left wondering at that choice of order of events.
The show does these kind of "backwards information loops" a bit, and this isn't the first time I've gone "oh that's what they meant lol"; It's not as bad as Insider with its ""twists"", and it likes inference, but, as there are still so many reveals to come, haha, we'll have to see if it can pull off this delivery style satisfactorily for *everything*... I don't want the whole plot to be redundant, and as little "yes, BUT you sAID" exclamations as possible please (see: calling Woosin to the mansion) ಠ_ಠ
(I just keep having this nagging suspicion it's not fully as smart as it thinks it is, even if I like it 😅😂
Would be nice to be wrong though lmao. )

Unless chairman knows Lee Changwoo well that he would not reveal the original even if he had to die. So his sons are his only weakness. Roping In his son might fluster LCW while nothing else would. After all he was willing to die to *end* everything with him.
but yeah, was it a coincidence that Woo Shin has been working to free his biological father all along and it so happened that chairman ropes him in when he finds out.
According to the timeline chairman is the last to find out that Adamas was fake. But I don’t know if he ready found out that Lee was part of the Lee chang woo scheme.
Because he does call Sun to his house knowing something. But it is in the house that Sun reveals the whole Lee-Hyunjo bomb plan which infuriates him. So I don’t know if Lee was ordered to be killed because of this or he called her to kill Lee even before this.
Yeah. I don’t know if I missed any details which connects all the details in a sequence.

I really hope they pull off everything nicely at the end too

@mayhemf I think that Woo-shin started working to free his biological dad after what his dying mom told him and after he received the letter from Hye-soo. The recommendation he received to write the memoir was the merging point of Woo-shin/ Hye-soo agenda and the chairman's. Woo-shin and Hye-soo didn't even think that it was all the chairman's doing after finding out that his personal assistant was the one who recommended him. Hye-soo instead thought that she had done it to "trap" her in the petty fight for Hyun-jo which is a bit short sighted in my opinion. How much agency did they really think the personal assistant of someone as powerful as the chairman has? I think that the chairman became suspicious of Woo-shin's motive for being in the mansion after all the accidents/mishaps happened as soon as he arrived

Am I the only one curious about that locked case Wooshin's place?

Hmm, I hadn't thought of it 😅

thought so :D, especially when there are so many plot holes. but the show has good detailing so far, for example the how they showed the poppies in the first episode and how they ended up using it (RIP Mr.Kim). Since they explicitly showed us that case in Wooshin's place, we may know what's in that later (hopefully), although I'm suspecting it to be gun perhaps?

Also something I picked up on was the
"You look like him"
can now mean both "you look like your father" and also "you remind me of my dead son", both of whom Chairman Kwon "loved" in his own twisted way.

I hope I’m not too late to the party! I’m still unravelling from this week’s episode. Needless to say, the show keeps getting better and better, I’m astonished how Ji Sung is portraying both the twins. I love how he changes his walk, voice and the mannerisms different between them and I love to watch the twins all day! This man is getting handsome and hotter day by day!
Mr.Lee and Woo-Shin scene was so intense ( I might’ve passed out too :P), although I was hoping for a Mr.Lee and Soo-Hyun’s face off. Also, the fact he gets killed the same episode?! Did not see that coming! If I was in Woo-Shin’s place I would’ve spiralled, to know that Chairman was aware of everything and he had it planned all along and Woo Shin walked right into his trap. I particularly like that scene in the mansion with Chairman and Woo Shin, how he orders to Woo-Shin to recover the real Adamas or else he will kill Soo Hyun. This feels like a warning to us that twins might not make it alive out of this, I don’t want either of the twins to die in this. Considering the fact, after repeated attempted murders Soo Hyun is still alive (Remember what Hwang said, if Haesong wanted him dead, he will be dead) and Woo Shin even though not combative survived so long in the mansion (Or should I say, allowed to live?), further they are deepening connection between Sooo Hyun and Seo Hee (I like this dynamic!) and Woo Shin conveniently excluded to mention the fact that Lee Chang Woo knows where the real Adamas is (This bothers me, I was expecting the brothers to same page by now, as his plan of not looping Soo Hyun in his mission was a disaster.) I understand where he is coming from, that he is worried about Soo Hyun but this is making me queasy that Woo Shin will end up worse because of being a noble idiot.
Hye Soo being a spectator so long is finally playing the game and I’m digging her partnership with Woo Shin (Assuming she will not backstab him), she can be good ally for him. Am I the only one getting the Sansa Stark/Cersei (Game of thrones) vibes from her? I liked her confrontation with Hyun Jo where she learns about Minjo’s death and also admits she likes Woo Shin. I’m curious about her revenge plot now.
Both these episodes had really great moments which I enjoyed and all those reveals makes the game even more dangerous now. I really want to mention the twin’s interaction in Soo Hyun’s house; with such tenderness and understanding between them! I love how Woo Shin is so small when he’s with Soo Hyun- loved how he sat in front of the mirror looking at the toy. Soo Hyun is definitely the older brother here, love how soft he is with Woo-Shin and he way he asked what information he is withholding.
My fingers crossed for the next episode and our fav twins making out of this in one piece!

Binged this drama this past, long weekend! :D Did not disappoint.
SO MANY TWISTS. I can barely keep up especially when I was zooming through these episodes (not fast forwarding though, hah!) It must have been torturous waiting for them to drop weekly! But I don't mind the pain because I want to get in on the live watching/reactions, haha.

Feels like I haven't seen a Ji Sung drama in so long. Love watching him here and how fun is it to see him take on two personalities.

I was ready to groan about the typical bombing plot device (heh ^^"), but I liked how it played out. Like I was sure Seo Hee would survive and the bomb on her would not go off. However, the reveal that there was a separate bomb that did go off was interesting. And the ramifications of it affecting politics and SIH.
