Adamas: Episodes 9-10
by missvictrix
As ever, we have a week of running around and sneaking around which precipitates some huge reveals. Our twins might be principled and brave, but they’re both so far in at this point that their lives are hanging in the balance. But going out strong in a tuxedo is definitely the way it’s done.
EPISODES 9-10 WEECAP
Before I jump into the action, it’s worth asking: how can this drama keep on handing us new twists and reveals each week, and how can they be so consistently good?! Mix that with the gorgeous direction (and a lot of interesting camera angles/choices this week) and… I’m just impressed! And enjoying myself.
So, Soo-hyun survives the car bomb thanks to Mr. Baek’s courage, and much like we suspected, the SIH has faked his death for his own safety. He and Seo-hee are once again in an SIH safe house (what a cool underground network they have going on; the SIH feel like actual spies!), and butting heads with them. As usual, the alliance is rickety and Soo-hyun and Seo-hee are soon on their own again.
The two follow a vehicle from Ares and wind up at the top secret location where Jeweler Jang is designing the new setting for the adamas. Annnnnd Team A is also there thanks to Woo-shin. The news of the adamas being re-set is out and buzzing in professional thief world, so Team Leader Lee is there to take it back. And other things.
The editing and acting are so good here; I was shocked by this whole scene. Jeweler Jang is trying to communicate something to Lee, but she hesitates and the scene cuts. We then follow our lovable and reckless Soo-hyun, who runs through the woods, climbs all over the house, and finds a way in. The overlap here is crucial because he happens upon a “suicided” Jeweler Jang hanging from the railing and sees Team Leader Lee there.
But the secret that happened between her dialogue and her death is where the real shocker is: that adamas is not the real adamas. WHAT!! All this time, it hasn’t been the real adamas. It’s a decoy. And crazy as it sounds, it seems like Team Leader Lee is the only one that knows (and that’s why the jeweler had to die)… that is, him and Lee Chang-woo. OMG!
We get eyes on this when Team Leader Lee shows up in prison to see Lee Chang-woo (as per his demands in last week’s episodes) and although Lee tries to intimidate Lee Chang-woo with his knowledge about the twins being his sons, it’s Lee Chang-woo who has the power. The “Where did you hide it?” question says it all (AND I THINK I KNOW WHERE IT IS!) — not only that the two were in cahoots, but it also answers why they’ve let Lee Chang-woo live all this time. I need a moment to collect myself.
Returning to Soo-hyun and Seo-hee on the lam, Team A is chasing them literally through the streets in a way that’s almost hilarious if it wasn’t so dire, and they’re saved — and Soo-hyun nearly hit — by none other than Hye-soo! Another fantastic moment for the drama. She does a double take to see Woo-shin’s twin, and winds up saving the two of them via her fancy vehicle.
In terms of Hye-soo this week, we learn that somehow MR. JUNG (Team Leader Lee’s right-hand man) is in her pocket — at least mostly? — and that creates even more interesting dynamics with how the power shifts, the information travels, and where loyalties lie (or don’t lie). Also, Hye-soo spends some time this week with her strung out husband and gains some more information on Min-jo’s death — which we also glean from a flashback, and a scene with Chairman Kwon and Dragon Lady.
In the former, we see Min-jo giving up his rights to Haesong and wanting to save the father he truly loves from his evil life; he knows his father won’t lay a hand on him, but it’s more than clear that Hyun-jo doesn’t feel that way. Similarly, in the Chairman Kwon scene, he once again beats his faithful servant for suggesting he was behind Min-jo’s accident (this scene was truly hard to watch). The long and the short of it is that it’s looking more and more like Hyun-jo had his little brother killed, which isn’t hard to put past him.
And now back to Woo-shin, who I kinda missed this week. In addition to churning out the chairman’s memoir, he sees two major events this week: Dragon Lady Kwon seeing to it that the tree her son died on is cut down, and a huuuuge confrontation with Tae-sung and Security Guard Kim (a.k.a. Golf Cart Fanboy).
Last week Golf Cart Fanboy uncovered the hidden sat phone — this week, when Tae-sung finds out, he brutally assaults him in a secret trailer in the woods. Gosh, the SIH people are just absolutely ruthless, and both twins are discovering this and equally horrified by it.
But the scene in the secret trailer might epitomize what the drama does so well: a contained and controlled environment with an electric charge running through it, and more twists and turns than you thought they could fit.
We’re led to suspect Security Guard Kim, but Woo-shin defends him from the ruthless Tae-sung… until SECURITY GUARD PARK (Go Yoon) shows up. He’s the real double agent, and he’s not a baddie like they suspect. He’s also from the SIH, and proves it by knowing the code to open the lockbox. In the words of Tae-sung: “Nice job fooling me all this time, bastard.”
But Security Guard Park is willing to do anything to keep his own solo mission safe, and he strangles Security Guard Kim and they cover up the death like all the others. This poor kid. It shakes Woo-shin to his core, and there’s a great small scene where we watch Woo-shin gazing moodily out at a thunderstorm — beautifully shot and captured. I love that the drama takes time for stuff like this.
Anyway, all the chaos being what it is, Woo-shin agrees to the SIH’s Plan B, which is that he will steal the adamas on the night of the 80th anniversary celebration/retirement, and willfully get caught. This, theoretically, will cause the whole thing to blow open, from an investigation of Haesong to the adamas, and the whole string of their crimes.
With the memoir ready, Woo-shin scores an invitation to the event, and that’s where our episode ends: Woo-shin in a tuxedo at the Haesong extravaganza, holding the ever-so-swiftly-published memoir in his hands. And then he gets made by Hye-soo, who knows far more than she should, but seems to offer help…
But one cliffhanger isn’t enough, and our other twin has his own. After surviving a second explosion in his face, Soo-hyun has all but walked out of the SIH’s plan due to their cruel methods (so much bloodshed this week!)
Meanwhile, Seo-hee has been captured and tortured by our resident psychopath. Team Leader Lee changed his mind and wanted Seo-hee alive for his plan with Hyun-jo, which I found a little far-fetched, but I’m rolling with it.
Seo-hee, in suicide bomber getup, is sent into SIH headquarters to blow everything up. She’ll be their scapegoat, and Team A will make her into a terrorist, set off political tensions after the election, and in the end, further their arms legalization plans. This is by far my least favorite part of the plot, so rather than linger here, let’s end on that insane scene with Chairman Kwon and Team Leader Lee!
Chairman Kwon — who knows everything as Lee Chang-woo suggested — finds out that Team Leader Lee has been keeping info from him, and it gets terrifying quickly. Lee denies until he realizes he’s being tested; he hears a car revving its engine in the distance and drops to his knees to beg forgiveness. Even as the car races towards him he doesn’t move, knowing his life depends on staying where he is. The man is sweating bullets and bracing himself so hard, I almost felt sorry for him. It’s a super intense scene that is another great example of how this drama uses tension and restraint so well.
Are this week’s episodes over already?! This drama just goes too fast — and it’s not that it doesn’t take its time to tell its story well — it’s that I think I start holding my breath when I press play and don’t breathe again till its over.

Yay! Just in time! I just finished writing out my comment! hahaha~
.
.
Oh gosh so much happened these two episodes.
First of all RIP to the Security Guard ☹ I liked him, he was cute. I was hoping for him to be a bit more than a red herring, a pretty face and arbitrary collateral damage, but I guess they wanted to keep that twist about the second SIH agent under wraps for as long as possible. Oh well :/
I continue to like the growing disillusionment between the SIH and the brothers- I like that the SIH is only a means to an end and never a true ally or the true good guys, but squarely has their own agenda, that tends to cause as many problems as everyone else, lmao. Soohyun at this point has had multiple people die around, in front or for him as a result of this entire mess, but this is Woosin’s first, and they noticeably lingered on that fact.
Secondly, although I am still enjoying this, I did feel parts of this week, especially 10 were messier than normal for this show.
The SIH agent just let the assassin walk straight in instead of slamming the door in her face.
SSH’s emotional reaction to SeoHee’s capture, and attacking the Ares HQ made sense in that dumb emotional reactions lead to dumb actions, but not in any other way that made sense- I also feel that there should’ve been a way in which the car chase ended where he could’ve saved her and not lost them but… I’ll let that one slide for now. (Less so the Assassin Open Season Door yikes)
Soohyeon is going through a Time and Frakking Half (his poor ribs), but I feel like some of the decision making around the back half of 10 was done more to increase the stakes and drama next episode, than anything else, and was therefore less emblematic of the smart, constant push and pull of earlier episodes, especially in regards to how the brothers react and play the field.
Why are they not TALKING to each other more? That happened for a couple of weeks, and now we’ve gone back to things happening in the dark.
I think I’m managing but it still can be hard to follow just how much everybody knows or what they’re trying to achieve specifically, and how the board and all the motivations keep changing. I fear this becoming a flaw in the back third, which is what we are now entering.
I wonder at the decision to jump forward a few days at the end of 10 – so far this show has been content to follow things as they happen. I can’t help suspect a few more twists of the heisty kind, a deliberate withholding of information during these days now, so that they can pull the blind off us more next week. (I would LOVE a brother switcheroo personally- any identical twin show that doesn’t do that is wasting what their premise is MADE for imo 🤣🤣🤣. Please, that has to be what the double invitation was, right?? Or… something??? I need them to switch places! It’s important for my mental well-being! Lmao)
Speaking of next episode- if they fridge Seo Hee, I will riot! Don’t you dare, show. I love...

... my Chaotic Outside Duo too much. I need them to be safely reunited. Please.
The twist of Adamas NOT being the real Adamas is so intriguing to me, and yet we only got a taster of it this week. I know the Adamas is essentially just a giant McGuffin (when it’s not an ironic symbol of Haeseong’s weakness- in name and make made to represent strength, and yet will probably end up being their entire downfall), but it is a FUN secret treasury McGuffin nonetheless, and now there’s TWO of them! Just like there are two Jisungs, who clearly inherited their biological father’s taste of theft, and breaking into things.
Otherwise enjoyed these two episodes as usual, and the hr/hr:10 just flew by. This is the only thing I’m watching that I don’t really get distracted during half way, want to pause, and can watch invested in for the full runtime without noticing.
(I still can’t decide which twin I love most.)

"(I still can’t decide which twin I love most.)" -
No one should ever have to choose. That would be a cruel ask.
I really love how Ji-Sung brings the differences between the 2 personalities so well. Even the way he walks - Woo Shin has that swag which is very diff from Soo Hyun's .

For me it was both letting the hit woman in and not having Seohee use the chair next to her, to bash her over the head. Instead having her call Soo Hyun. SIGH. The way the move around the to make the hitwoman "scary" is annoying. Dumbing down everyone else to make her smarter is not the way to go.

Smashing the assassin with a chair would have redirected her focus on Soo Hee, who is weak and can't fight. Instead, I would have liked to see Soo Hee discreetly moving away from the asssassin and escaping through the door. At least they could have shown her attempting these ideas rather than calling for help. Sigh

Yes but there's a good chance it would've knocked her out. (if this followed the rules of how easy it actually is to knock someone out and how hard it is to get up after being hit very hard... which is not guaranteed so...)

You were okay with the scene where Soo Hyun entered the house through backyard? Too much of coincidence with the neighbouring house being open, the backdoor being open and no security guarding the backdoor entrance that I was very close to dropping it, but the ending saved me. It was as ridiculous as the forest shooting when Team A ambushed SIH secret hiding which I excused as night time increasing the chances of bullet missing Soo Hyun and Soo Hee while they ran. Also, I can't with the number of times SH has encountered bomb blast but is still looking dapper like Ji Sung without burn marks😒 The other stuffs going on in the drama are so good, that I'm overlooking all these issues.

I really enjoy this show. I'm really impressed by how well crafted the direction is, especially how after episode after episode of non-stop action, the drama fluidly reset each brother's arc back to square one right as we passed the halfway point. They did everything but accomplished nothing. Some other thoughts:
-The fake Adamas reveal had me "omo"-ing in my seat. Really did not see it coming, yet it made perfect sense. Because Team A and Song Soohyun were after each other the entire first half, we assumed that SSH was the focal point of the paternity test - at first, it seemed as if Team Leader Lee wanted to verify why the brothers would be willing to go so far, when all it’ll do is clear someone’s name. Yet, it turned out Lee Changwoo was the focal point, and from TL Lee’s perspective, it was more like who are these peddlers around the one guy I absolutely need secrecy and control over.
Now, we knew from last week that something was very off when TL Lee hid Wooshin’s involvement from Chairman Kwon. At the same time, the drama has been slowly nudging us towards asking why Team A kept LCW alive. The answer is because LCW hid the real Adamas and no one else knows about it but Lee? Brilliant.
I mean, just imagine if this were any other k-drama. LCW would make very suggestive comments followed by menacing music in episode 1, and we’d be bombarded by bad symbolism and foreshadowing for 10 episodes.
-I concluded that the director must have cast the actress who plays the assassin after watching her go on a stabbing spree because …
-Knew the designer was sooo dead as soon as Team Leader Lee checked how sturdy the handrails on the staircase were lol.
-Seo Jihye plays cold, callous and fashionable very well

All the people dying are innocent! Why PD why?!
Kim Seohee's Parents : They were not even witnesses.
Mr. Gong : Had nothing to do with those people.
Team Leader Lee's brother : Though he worked for Team A, was kind of innocent (I think). He's just trying to impress his brother.
Designer Jang : What wrong did she do to these people?
Even the case from 22 years ago.... That stepfather just went in there to see Lee Changwoo and died.
And now, my heart breaks for Security Gaurd Kim 😭💔 I mean why?! He would've kept his mouth shut [I liked that character].
I hope Dongrim will make this out alive.
People from SIH, though they don't care if they die, have died a lot including those who died in raid by team A at SIH's Safehouse, Mr. Baek, Ms. Lee...

I believe the fact that all the deaths so far are relatively "innocent" people is on purpose. Hence, Woosin's adamancy about not killing the Security Guard and his sorrow afterwards, and also Soohyun's growing frustration in/at the SIH.

Oh okay it IS the same as mine then hahaha. My first thought immediately was "it will be with one of the twins" and then to the toy, since that was one of the only things specifically focused on in That Such A Way (if you know what I mean). So yes, our hunches are currently the same haha

August 26, 2022 at 3:38 AM
@riyachavhan and @sicarius It is pretty obvious right? The drama has been good so far, so I'm hoping that isn't the where it is, but logically speaking even without the focus on the toy, the adoptive mother of the twins knew Lee Chang Woo was innocent. So, I have three possible guesses
1. Changwoo went to repay the money at the twins home and heard of the superhero story and decided to hide Adamas in it and gift the twins (but they assumed it was from the dad)
2. The adoptive mother and Lee Changwoo were friends/siblings/partners colluding together.
3. Changwoo owed the adaoptive father some money for transportation/moving which is when he heard of the superhero toy and rest as point 1.

But we'll see.

August 26, 2022 at 4:37 AM
You see I thought of the "adoptive" possibility too, but the show thus far has managed keep stuff under wrap, so I want them to surprise me instead of the usual predictive stuff😂😂 I mean we all did not think of the fake adamas and another security being a secret agent.

Yes, exactly what you all said!!! I actually didn't mind when I realized where it was hidden because it was such a great eureka moment in my brain. Rather than be caught off guard I kind of like that the writing led us all there (though hopefully not too far ahead of the actual reveal!). Perhaps the size of the toy was what made it more apparent. Either way I love this from top to bottom haha!

Actually, it shouldn't have surprised me anymore, but I was still shocked at how brutally Chairman Kwon went after Ms Kwon and how he treated her like his personal slave.
I'm curious to see when Ms Kwon gets to the point where she completely loses it. I wouldn't be surprised if she kills the chaiman first and then, as a good subject, kills herself afterwards.

I’m hoping that’s the case. It would definitely be poetic justice if it is. Chairman Kwon’s whole spiel about loyal dogs and whatnot biting back at him. Would also prefer Lady Kwon stabbing Chairman Kwon in the heart, finally letting her son rest and his heart no longer giving life to such an evil man

Hands down the best episodes so far! Especially EP10! This series gets better and better each episode so much I'm enjoying them and my blood pressure keeps shooting up often (in a good way :P). The Cinematography, editing and THE BGM was on par this week!
I'm surprised Soo-Hyun hasn't lost it yet, in a span 2 days, people around him are murdered (brutally). I kinda like this relationship with Seo-Hee? I don’t see them romantically. His scenes in Miss. Jang's place was so crucial, like you said he knew Mr.Lee killed Ms.Jang and he doesn't know why? Also, I love how he is a normal person who got sucked into this and he does not have ninja skills and his survival instincts is driving him now? I liked how he confronted Mr.Kang at the end and declared that he’s going on separate way to save Seo-Hee.
Woo-Shin’s story got really intense in EP10, thanks mentioning the trailer scene, the entire sequence was toooo good and unnerving at the same?! The actual scene and the Woo-Shin’s flashback about how things really went down was shot so beautifully and the editing was top notch there. Woo-shin has every right to be this shaken! We really have to appreciate Woo-shin’s presence of mind here.
Even though the twins are having different stories, like for Soo-Hyun its more action packed and he is able to handle things with his spontaneity and his fighting skills. Meanwhile Woo-Shin, inside the mansion is playing a dangerous mind game which is his strong forte.
I’m curious to know why Ms.Kwon invited Soo-Hyun to the ceremony? do we know why or am I missing something here?

I am always on the edge of my seat while watching this drama because everyone is so damn reckless! But I'm really enjoying the show and it keeps me captivated.
You bet that the satellite phone was found. Haven't they literally been begging to be caught? You know that there's 24h surveillance and you constantly go to a specific place in the woods... A security guard would have to be really poor at his job if he had not spotted that.
And why were they so dismissive of who guard Kim could possibly be? I thought they would have already confronted him. Is guard Kim really dead?
How did Tae-sung expect guard Kim to answer him whilst he was basically chocking him to death? 😂
I was laughing hard when Soo-Hyun basically walked into the Jeweller's house without being interrupted. Where was the security?
How did the psycho Sun girl kill off the SIH lady so easily? I know that they want to show us how competent she is a killer but come on! She barely put up a fight
I did love the reveal about the fake Adamas because initially thought that the jeweller had found some blood while recrafting the diamond.

Waiting for my hair to dry so I rewatched the knife fight to break it down lmfao
Contrary to what Il Woo’s character says in Episode 1 of Good Job, everything I’ve ever watched, read or know about fighting places the advantage squarely in the court of the person WITH the weapon.
Knife fights are a lot more brutal and last for far less time than the majority of movies or tv make them out to, so from that perspective, this isn’t that bad.
Order of strikes by the assassin (and events):
1. 1 to the Left arm
- She is taken off guard, drops the torch, and before she can recover from the shock…
2. 3 to the stomach/abdomen
3. 3 more to the abdomen higher up
4. 1 to the shoulder
- After which she throws the assassin off her
5. 1 more unseen just heard
- More fighting back, the only main bout really we get
6. 1 to the thigh
7. 1 across what looks to across the entire upper body from hip to shoulder but it’s hard to tell
- Seohee interferes and gets knocked out
8. 1 to the back whilst she’s collapsed on the ground
9. 1x - Cuts her hamstring
- As this point she should be hella bleeding out lmao
10. 1x Cuts the main artery in the neck
- (you don’t see this, you just see the blood spurting at the assassin’s face (not even nearly enough I might add) and the music changes, and then in ep 10 you see her bleeding out from her neck- she lasted a long time considering pffft)
14 cuts in total. (Not the kiss scene kind of cut)
So hmmmm some of this is ok? Cutting the hamstring to incapacitate her, for example. It’s also pretty impressive that she’s able to fight back at all with 8 to 9 stab wounds in her upper abdomen- (I guess you could say adrenaline had kicked in by that point maybe…)
My question however, is why the assassin didn’t automatically go for the neck or other main arteries (like the armpits) since she commanded the entire fight from stab one, had more than enough room, reach, and multiple opportunities, and would’ve ended the fight in about a third of the time.
It was mentioned before that this chick likes torturing her victims, but this just seems like making unnecessary risk for yourself. No need to get thrown across the room if you don’t have to.
She could’ve killed her in like 90% less cuts lmao. A couple to distract and incapacitate, and then a double main artery slice. Voila. No time to even get thrown across the room, or for Seohee to recover from shock, try and interfere OR ring SSH.
No time for your opponent to even fight back at all.
But from the SIH agents point of view, the biggest mistake is that the SIH agent shouldn’t even have let her in, let alone have stepped back to let her command the space. There’s like a good 7 seconds of staring at each other before the fight starts- that’s frakking life or death in a knife fight, come on.
You’re a secret agent, there’s been a suspicious blackout, and you open the door to someone you don’t know and you’re protecting people who you KNOW the enemy...

... wants dead? And you just let them in? Lmao get out of here.
So quite to the contrary, either way there should’ve probably almost been LESS fighting back kekekeke
If you let them get the first strike in, there’s a good chance you’re probably pretty screwed, I think (without going to watch a whole bunch of youtube videos on this at quarter past midnight). So your best bet is not letting them even get to that point.
The fight is inaccurate before it even begins, and then doesn't follow a logical order of events for EITHER the assassin or the other participants involved, so kinda pointless to debate any other specifics before that heh.

Lol. I ain't bothered about the agent because she was pretty much sliced open akin to a fish, but there are so many things Soo Hee could have done to survive if only she had the same ridiculous plot armour as Soo Hyun 🙃 Him out runnning the goons with a fractured rib was hilarious 😂😂

I appreciate at least that he stays injured even after all his explosions, and isn't perfectly fine. That would be worse. Like I said in my first comment though - this is why I felt that a lot of things that happened this week happened to set up for NEXT week rather than make sense NOW.

This was the most absurd thing about that fight

The Hitwoman continues to be the biggest miss for me in this drama. She isn't super believable and then they keep dumbing everyone around her to prop her up. Both brothers are very reckless. The way Soo Hyun was running around when he was supposed to be dead is wild to me, sir they declared you dead, lol. I realized Woo Shin is just calm about his recklessness, while Soo Hyun is more dramatic. Also did I miss something, at the end of the episode, I am pretty sure that is Soo Hyun at the party and not Woo Shin. The way he looked at the book, his look of surprise at Hye Soo, I could be making it up in my head though. lol

I agree, I feel like they did switch places. Woo-shin’s reaction seemed a little too intense when Seo-hee’s name was mentioned, would make more sense if it was Soo-hyun

Also, he wrote a biography without even meeting his son????

I figured Chairman Kwon didn’t care for his input. It’s pretty clear he preferred Min-jo over Hyun-jo and has somewhat of a distaste for him (probably cause he knows Hyun-jo killed Min-jo?). I’d also laugh if he doesn’t name Hyun-jo as his successor during the 80th anniversary party lol

This drama is really so good that I wish they can get rid of that one woman going on a killing spree because she is an unwanted lint in an otherwise nice cloth. Team leader Lee sweating profusely highlighted that even though he has high powers, he is not immune to danger unless he is born rich, grew rich and accumulated riches without directly getting blood on his hands.

omg! omg! omg!! screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Ju-Sung suited up!! shiaaaaa!! I die!!
I am so impressed missvictrix is able to use so many words. I can barely write anything now. So much feels!
wow, wow and wow! The show is nailing it. I did not see the Adamas twist coming... I was mind blown! and it all made sense... So we just need to know what is the connection between Chairman and Lee-Chang Woo. what is the deal between them?
I was quite thrilled to see Team A Lee cower. The hierarchy is glaring. The Kwon lady and chairman scene and this. Chairman is so quietly intimidating... POWER! wow..
Poor cutie Kim.. Made me so sad... We are losing so many head counts. I now worry. Will the show go really dark and kill any of our leads? I really thought Reporter Kim will be the first to go. Let's hope her life line is long as her astrologer claimed.. please.. Choi might also be one.
And how did Soo Hyun get the invite! And are we getting both Ji-Sung in one frame!!
The tension is so rife in the outside world. And I can't wait for both the inside and outside world to collide at some point.
So many good scenes these 2 episodes. So many wonderfully executed scenes. This show does slow-tension very well. When Team A Lee saw the car backup, we knew something is going to happen. But didn't know what it would be.. and when finally the car came towards him, i was like - F***..

Don’t know if this is just the drama telling me repeatedly or not but do they look-alike? Ji Sung & Ahn Bo-hyun? Am I spotting a resemblance?
They keep telling me his smile is like Woo-shin’s but we’ve yet to see Min-jo smile in any of the flashbacks. Also his smile is mentioned so much that I feel like it’s got be to pivotal to the plot somehow…
Anyway my biggest niggling nitpick from last week which continues onto this week is how do Chairman Kwon & Hyun-jo still not know that Woo-shin & Soo-hyun are twin brothers?! They are both gunning for prosecutor bro’s death, they know his name, been getting updates about him but don’t know what he looks like? I figured Hyun-jo would at least connect the dots when he saw Woo-shin at the party but noooope
It’s back to the whole spiel of you look familiar! I wonder why? Wait no you remind of Min-jo!

So originally when they said Woosin looked like/ reminded one of him [Minjo] my mind automatically went "are there going to be THREE Jisungs?!?! And another birth secret???"
But then they revealed ABH's cameo and I went "ah no, never mind, no chance for three Jisung's, alas". (how cool would've that been though hahaha)
However, I've since come to the conclusion that I think they mainly mean in demeanor and personality, in the way he acts, and thinks, and treats people, first, and then in literal looks. Obviously, Jisung and ABH don't really look a like (at all). I don't even think they're really supposed to in that sense either. You can be reminded of someone by someone else, even physically, without them being drop dead doppelgangers.
(If the smile is in the eyes, and the eyes are the window to the soul, then you don't have to share the same physical build to share the same physiognomy.)
You are also limited in film, when having this as a narrative tool, to having them be the same actor, go out of your way to cast people that DO look similar, or just using that line to represent something thematically, rather than overly literally. The latter is not WRONG always.
I feel like Minjo and the Twins are currently being linked in this way, and I don't really have a problem with it.
I am not passing up the opportunity of another birth secret though. It's slim, but there's still obviously some currently unknown link between the Chairman and Lee Changwoo, ("I kept quiet for 15 years" he says; the twins were 15 years old when he says this... 👀), as well as more information yet to be revealed regarding Minjo, his relationship with his family, and his death/murder (I thought it was interesting, how Hyunjo, although being older, defected to him when begging him to cover up the case, and the parallels between the line about how Minjo must know that Hyunjo wouldn't hesitate to hurt him if his father would, vs Hye Soo's realisation that the Chairman didn't "love" Minjo as much as he appeared to.)

Especially when you consider that, other than their innate sense of right and wrong (and being reckless kekeke), our Twins, who are IDENTICAL in looks, otherwise would not remind one of the other.

Gasp!! Do we have another birth secret. Is Lee Chang Woo chairman’s brother lol.
But then Kwon would know about it.
we have 6 more episodes. How many more twists and reveals can we expect!
I don’t see the twins being his. Since mom clearly said who the father was. Unless mother is chairman’s sister or something. Ok my imagination went makjang. Don’t think the show is going there.
Why is the wait so long!

I think my current thought is, (to make it *work*, not necessarily that this wild idea of mine born out of a desire for three Jisungs is *right*), more Minjo might be Changwoo's lol.
But if Kwon knew or knows why keep CW alive lol.
Yeah, look, I've *no* idea, but there's SOMETHING there and my brain entertained the thought anyway. 🤣🤣😅

"Is Lee Chang Woo chairman’s brother..."
Ohhhh!!! I hadn't really thought about that, but now that you mention it, it may not be that far-fetched of a possibility. When speaking to the Team A leader in jail, Lee Chang-woo did seem to speak with certainty that Chairman Kwon hadn't forgotten about him or knows what's going on with him (or something to that extent, I'm obviously forgetting exactly what was said!). Another secret/reveal definitely wouldn't surprise us anymore!

Soo-hyun running around, leaving his fingerprints everywhere! I mean absolutely everywhere when he was declared dead! I'm constantly on the edge of my seat with him. But he's impulsive that way, so I get it.
The reveals, the action, the secrets, the direction, it's all working for me. Can't believe I have to wait a whole week to see what happens at that ceremony ..... because I know our twins did not dress up in those fabulous tuxes to just stand around and look dapper!
