Yeo Jin-gu, Moon Ga-young become bonded by a Link

tvN’s new fantasy-romance Link: Eat and Love, to Kill has been gearing up for its premiere next month, releasing a new video teaser along with stills from the drama’s first script reading.

The story involves a strange “link” phenomenon that re-appears for the first time in 18 years, manifesting between chef Yeo Jin-gu (Beyond Evil) and temp worker Moon Ga-young (True Beauty). Despite being strangers who have never met, the two suddenly find their emotions in sync – allowing each to feel what the other is feeling at any moment.

The new teaser begins with the drama’s definition of link: “a phenomenon in which one becomes connected to another’s emotions. Example: becoming linked to a strange woman’s emotions.” Yeo Jin-gu then tries to explain what it is using illustrations, “Let me explain. A cellphone can be connected to the WiFi, right? The cellphone can also have a two-way connection with a computer. It’s like that.”

We then cut back and forth between Moon Ga-young and Yeo Jin-gu as they flip-flop through waves of sadness and happiness. In one shot, Yeo even gets tearful while serving a customer, and the waiter has to drag him away as Yeo cries, “I really hope you enjoy the food. Everyone…” In another cut, Yeo Jin-gu continues his explanation of the link: “The situation and emotions you’re in get shared between the two parties.”

The teaser comes to a close with Moon Ga-young and Yeo Jin-gu finally meeting in person, and Yeo thoughtfully wonders, “Is it maybe this woman?” Moon, on the other hand, isn’t pleased to see Yeo and gets straight to the point: “Whatever. If you send me one more weird thing or show up in my vicinity again, I can report you and make sure that you get a criminal record for it!”

Though we don’t see much of the rest of the cast in this teaser, we can look forward to Constable Song Deok-ho (Tracer) and Sergeant Lee Bom-sori (Justice) as work colleagues who used to date, as well as Kim Ji-young (Graceful Friends) as Moon Ga-young’s mom, and Ye Soo-jung (The King of Tears, Lee Bang-won) as her grandma.

Directed by PD Hong Jong-chan (Juvenile Justice, Life) and co-written by Kwon Ki-young (Suspicious Partners) and Kwon Do-hwan, Link: Eat and Love, to Kill premieres May 16 in tvN’s Monday-Tuesday slot.

I rewatched 365 Days recently. She is one of my favorites.
I like that she doesn't gave a small pointed face. It makes her stand out beautifully. Hope she never changes that

It'll be nice to see Yeo Jin-gu in a drama where he can smile often :)

It's looking pretty cute and I 100% can get around this pairing, I've not seen Moon Ga-young in anything but True Beauty and I loved her there so I am very hopeful <3

I really like Moon Ga-young. Yeo Jin-gu and romance ... Eh, we'll see. I'm always a little wary when a role is offered to multiple actors, but they had multiple offers so it may not indicate anything about the quality.

"I'm always a little wary when a role is offered to multiple actors"

It does make the audience wary. But I always remind myself of Kill Me Heal Me at such times. Now THAT was a roller coaster of casting which turned out fantastically.

I really like the pairing of Yeo Jin-goo + Moon Ga-young, so I’m excited for this! This seems different from anything the two of them have done before. I’m always down for actors trying out something new.

Also, the first episode airs pretty close to my birthday, so that combined with this pairing of two of my faves means this HAS to be good. Drama gods, don’t hurt me on this.

I hope Yeo Jin Gu manages chemistry with Moon Ga Young. If he can do that, II think this drama will be worth it.

These two look cute together. Always been a fan of Moon Ga Young. I've only seen Yeo Jin Gu in serious roles so I'm excited to see him play a non-stoic character in a odd situation.

The "link" phenomenon sounds pretty interesting. Just hope the writers can make use of it well.

I like Moon Gayoung and I really like Yeo Jin-gu so although I can't say I ever put the two together in my mind, I'm cautiously optimistic this will be good. The premise sounds like it could be both comedic and poignant, so as with most dramas, it'll come down to the writing. My memory of Suspicious Partners is fuzzy, especially once the main pairing got together, but I think the writing there was decent.

The writer did a good job with All About My Romance & Protect the Boss. Two lesser known/underrated romance dramas! Something about 2000s era romance dramas that hit in the feels lol. Those were solid rom-coms with zany ML's, but those had Shin Ha Kyun and Ji Sung as the leads lol. But I oddly have faith in the writer b/c of her solid romance works in the past, and the director is also solid too.

Woah. Maybe it's late and maybe I'm seeing things. Honestly gasped at the first photo 'cause it looked like KSH, he who must not be acknowledged.
Look closely and say, hmmm?

I think I have only seen Yeo Jin-Goo is relatively serious roles, so this is surprising 😅

Judging by the comments here, I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to Yeo Jin-gu. Great actor, but I just don't him a suitable romantic comedy lead. Perhaps My Absolute Boyfriend soured me on that lol. I don't know, I also think Moon Ga Young tends to play older than her rl age. I think it would've fun if someone like Yoon Park got the ML here, a 9 yr difference in rl. But he's someone I feel like would ace this role!

Also something I noticed is when actors get 2nd leads are lesser known names/non idols, they tend to fall into the background even more. Which means that the main lead couple have majority of the screentime/arc, so the show literally rests on their shoulders. I remember reading this synopsis and thinking that it sounded fun but messy, and the chef description for the ML was sexy lol. Totally different than I imagined...
