Bickering sparks into love for Lee Sung-kyung, Kim Young-dae in tvN’s Shooting Stars

As the premiere draws closer, more promos have been released for tvN’s Shooting Stars featuring our squabbling leads Lee Sung-kyung (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2) and Kim Young-dae (Penthouse 3).

Exploring the world of the entertainment industry, the story focuses on the people who are usually unseen by the public – the countless staff in management, production, or media to name just a few. In this world, marketing team lead Lee Sung-kyung has her hands full trying to maintain the public image of her company’s celebrities. One of her biggest headaches, though, is top star Kim Young-dae whose “perfect” image is far from his real personality, and his impulsiveness often sends the management team scrambling.

The new teaser begins with Kim Young-dae shocking Lee Sung-kyung by showing up next to her at a movie theater. With a mischievous grin, he motions at her to keep quiet and just watch the movie. But Lee slaps Kim’s hand away, scoffing, “You don’t have time to complete your assigned work, but you come to see a movie?”

Avoiding her question, Kim comments on the movie instead and the sulking Lee settles back into her seat to resume watching. As the movie plays, Kim Young-dae sneaks a glance at Lee Sung-kyung, leading to a brief moment of awkwardness when Lee suddenly turns her head and meets his gaze. The two quickly look away, turning back to the movie, and the teaser comes to a close with Lee’s voiceover: “tvN’s Shooting Stars premieres April 22.”

Written by Choi Yeon-soo and directed by PD Lee Soo-hyun (The Witch’s Diner, Awaken), Shooting Stars premeieres in tvN’s Friday-Saturday slot.

I want to see how Kim Young-dae does in his first lead role. He was not good in Penthouse, but it didn't help that I hated Kim Hyun-soo's character. He had more chemistry with his twin Han Ji-hyun.

I know this will be a very silly drama, but I loved last silly drama (A Business Proposal) and I have a very soft spot for Lee Sung Kyung and I really liked Kim Young Dae in Weather (haven't seen him on anything else, I believe). So yes, I am all for the fun.

I liked Kim Young-dae in everything I've seen so far (Extraordinary You and Cheat on Me If You Can as well his cameos in other shows) so I'm looking forward to his first proper lead role. Please be funny and fun show!
