Doom and Nevertheless do not get any beans so my spares go to Vincenzo which I enjoyed the most this year. That being said, I do want to give props to Nevertheless for having the cutest couple Soljiwan of the year, despite the ending robbing it from its bean it otherwise would've had.

Vincenzo is my obvious favorite. The funnest show with the surprisingly fire villain couple.
Mine isn't perfect, but definitely underrated! A makjang with strong women.
Sell Your Haunted House was a good ride, Jang Nara knocked it out of the park.
So Not Worth it was a clunky sitcom that tried too hard, but I enjoyed the ride nonetheless. It can keep its bean.
You Are My Spring was great! I loved the romance and friends, not so much the murder.
The King's Affection has 2 episodes left, but Park Eun Bin's acting has earned it its bean regardless of where the story takes us.

8 beans! that's more than usual. 2021 was an OK drama year in my book!

I'm actually tempted to watch a short drama and add some more beans but I will restrain myself from doing that. Funny how many shows that I was very excited while watching are'nt what that got the stars but the dramas that still give fuzzies or want to re watch them again were what that got them. If I could give beans for who I deemed to be the hardest working cast and crew on a show this year, all my beans would go to River where the moon rises. Now that more details are coming out, it seems to have been much ado about something much smaller, but ended up costing a lot of time, energy and money. Refilming an entire show (and not just any show, but a sageuk) again with a new actor, that was unprecedented.

I'm surprised I have as many as 7 beans. Well that's also because 2 of the shows in the count are currently airing and my mind puts Mr Queen and Run On in last year's category. Tbh I've only completed shows I have really liked so I don't think I'll give their beans to another. So here's just my small list of shows I liked this year and can definitely recommend:
1. Yumi's cells - so glad its right there at the top with Vincenzo which was well loved but there was not much buzz about Yumi's cells even in the WWW thread. I'm pleasantly surprised that minions watched and loved it too.

Shows I regret not finishing:
1. Hometown Cha cha cha: I liked it untill they tried to show that Chief Hong was actually a perfect man who can act cool in the society because technically he fits the society's standards but is just not exercising them. It ruined the show's main purpose for me and the background story did too. So i left it at ep 15 but I could've just pressed play for the last one.
My Roomate is a Gumiho: I liked it but dropped it because didn't want to go to the dark sites.
Remembrance of Things Past C drama: I genuinely hope I can catch up to this genm sometime. It is so good but this year has been very depressing and meh. When I realized the show was about to tackle some serious issues, I paused it.
On the verge of Insanity: Paused it at ep 6 but its good enough to continue. Maybe later!
So yeah...
Even if this year had some really good dramas, my entire mood was meh. I couldn't like any drama unless it really hooked me. Hoping next year will be better for me and dramas.

34 for me this year. Wow, where did I find the time?

Vincenzo: 7. An absolute joy from start to finish - operatic masterpiece. Looked forward to it so much each week. Chacenzo was one of my favourite drama couples ever.
DP: 6. It was such a difficult watch, but it stayed with me for weeks afterwards. When we keep quiet, we perpetuate the abuse... Jung Hae-in and Koo Kyo-han were stunning.
Mr Queen: 4. McDonaldu. Need I say more.
Dali and Gamjatang: 4. Both the lead characters were great for me, and I loved the over-the-topness of it all. Loved the time-skip twist at the end :)
Red Sleeve: 4. This could go wrong, but at the minute, I'm loving it. Politics from the women's perspective is soooo much more interesting. Plus, I *love* the way our king and his maid bicker their way into a relationship.
Beyond Evil: 3. I loved the tightness of the plotting and the sense of really getting to know this small community fighting against the world. Kept me gripped.
Move to Heaven: 2. Tang Joon-sang was excellent, Lee Je-hoon was excellent, and my eyes were opened to a world I didn't think to consider. Deeply moving.

The shock for me here is not how many I finished, but how many I started and then abandoned. So there are very few on the list of releases I didn't give at one a one episode chance, and I ended up really enjoying all the ones I actually committed to watching all the way through. Of the titles below, "From a Distance" is probably the only one I finished but didn't particularly like.

I've given beans to the ones I still think about because I thought at least once while viewing "This is REALLY good" and no beans to ones I'm still watching even if I love it (Red Sleeve) or those that I enjoyed but fast forwarded a bit to get to the end.
