Drama viewership ratings for the week of Sep. 27-Oct. 3, 2021

After last week’s pre-emptions, things are now back to normal. Police University and Lovers of the Red Sky returned to their usual numbers, around 6 percent and 9 percent respectively. Then, midweek, Dal-li and Gamjatang saw a slight rise while Hometown saw a slight dip.

And, of course, the weekend shows are still performing well. Human Disqualification and Yumi’s Cells’ numbers are on the lower side, but everything else is getting double digits or near double digits. Nice to see some of the Big Three shows thriving in a post-Penthouse time.

Ratings are high for majority of the dramas. Public broadcasters have given it back to the overly pumped channels. That horny catfights drama still got too good a rating. JTBC deserves better but that type of media not sits well with most.

So many dramas on Saturday, I'm not used to it.

The ratings numbers for Human Disqualification are unfortunate. However, I do understand that this particular show is not for everyone. But even with its heavy load of sadness, I'm finding this drama to be something special.

I'm not surprised really, the show is not an easy watch. It's more like a very long arthouse film than a drama.

I'm enjoying One the Woman. It reminds me a bit of Graceful Family, it's got that vibe (but no fish funeral as yet) and makes me laugh.
