Drama viewership ratings for the week of Oct. 4-10, 2021
by SailorJumun
Going into October, we have some shows wrapping up, as we ready for the new additions. Police University ended on Tuesday, to 6.3 percent, after consistent 5-7 percent ratings. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha will also be ending soon, and I’m sure it’ll finish off just as well as it started.
Our stand-out shows, as usual, are Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Lovers of the Red Sky, and One the Woman. This week, One the Woman even hit an all-time high rating of 15 percent. There aren’t a lot of shows getting double digits like One the Woman, but even so, each one is holding their own.

Well, the Sunday ratings are added when they become available.
I am just glad “Ratings Report” is back. I recall the the time of drought when RR was not here.
I am sure many beanies anticipate:
Friday: Open Thread
Saturday: Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching
Sunday: Ratings Report.

I don't think weekend dramas are doing good with these ratings. Honry fight is still having good. Almost all dramas are doing good in 2021 so ratings loose that measure of accountability. On one had i'm JTBC supporter but on the other hand i can see them routing profits from other sides into this loosing business. They try act like they are superior compared to other broadcasters but 2020 they were playing same cards as others do. They need to decide what kind of path they decide - They can market themselves as outlier more.
Mr. Nam would have done better at Netflix korea than some stupid copy-paste show.

One the Woman and Hometown Cha Cha Cha continue to kill it.
The Veil is doing better than anything on MBC has in years, but probably not good enough considering the blockbuster budget. I don't think it saved MBC.
I know MBC has a sageuk coming up next, but if they were going to pour money into one drama, I wish it had been a grand scale sageuk. IMO the most memorable dramas from MBC were sageuks.
It's a good thing Season 2 of Yumi's Cells is already in production. I assume it's probably doing well on TVING though.

I'm getting so bored with Lovers of the Red Sky. The two leads are incredibly beautiful and extremely good actors and when they are on screen I'm enthralled, but all the petty politics are pretty exhausting. And if good theatre results in an audience willingly suspending disbelief, there are too many times when I'm thinking "Oh, really?" and finding stuff that just doesn't make any sense. It started so well and I will stick it out to the end, which I hope will not be a bitter one!
