Shin Ha-kyun and Han Ji-min to play married couple in upcoming TVING drama

Shin Ha-kyun (Beyond Evil) and Han Ji-min (One Spring Night) have been officially confirmed as the leads in Beyond the Memory. There’s been a lot of buzz about this project because it’s celebrated director Lee Jun-ik’s (Book of Fish) first drama. Set in 2032, Beyond the Memory is a sci-fi fantasy drama about a man who receives a message from his deceased wife.

Shin Ha-kyun plays the main character, Jae-hyun, a reporter for a magazine called Science M. He feels empty and despairing after his wife’s death, and falls into chaos when he receives a message from her from “the Yonder.” The Yonder is a realm discovered by scientists that exists beyond the realm of the living. Here, he can meet his deceased wife, played by Han Ji-min. Before deciding on euthanasia for her terminal illness, Han Ji-min’s character made a mysterious deal that may be related the message she sent to her husband after her death.

The drama explores the meaning of life, death, and eternal happiness through the stories of the people who pass through the Yonder.

Filming for Beyond the Memory is slated to begin soon, and the drama will air on TVING in 2022.

Which one was that? Have not watched all his work (Beyond Evil was an awesome vehicle for him though.) He's an excellent actor not sure being in a previously sus one would have much bearing - unless you're implying he makes poor choices? Honest question!

Have not seen it but maybe not a good fit for him...

No problem, it wasn't a good fit for anyone. It was not a good concept, just NO, lol.

I my opinion, SM was horrible. The story had so many ethical lapses it became unwatchable.

Which was a truly dreadful waste of talent- I dropped it after one episode and regretted the time I had wasted. It was not the actors- they were doing their best- it was a truly poorly written show.

Well, I don't know how good this will be, but quality of the acting shouldn't be a problem.

Love Han Ji-min! She is so natural in every role and has great timing for comedy. This looks darker than her usual, but I'm looking forward to it...

Check her out in Mrs. Baek. She won a slew of Best Actress prizes, and it gave her career a breakthrough again. Its a dramatic, dark, and real performance. She's grown on me so much since Cain & Abel (I dropped it b/c of her lol). She's now a great actress!

Interesting premise, I love both leads. It can be something very special or a total trainwreck...
I get Black Mirror vibes. An I don't know if that is good.
