Drama viewership ratings for the week of Sep. 20-26, 2021
by SailorJumun
Korea celebrated Chuseok this week, naturally affecting some of our shows. Police University and Lovers of the Red Sky pushed their episodes, while High Class, which did air, saw a decline. The weekend went on as usual, bringing in high numbers. Most notably, One the Woman jumped to 12.7 percent.
We also had a few more dramas added to the lineup. First, we had rom-com Dal-li and Gamjatang premiere to 4.4 percent. Then, joining the weekend slot and replacing Revolutionary Sisters, we had Young Lady and Gentleman premiere to 22.7 percent.

Last week and even this week i am with the idea of unemployment data and then we have 2 shows with same concept values and 3rd the romance imposter and only 1 is hitting the double digits.
Ingredients are same but outcome is different - the popular one has caricature of characters and its taking advantage of same feelings of low-n-mid income class audience but is light in presentation.
JTBC you would have done better rebroadcasting and licensed the drama from Japan.
Agent Nam is the only unique one and if fighting hard.

The new family weekend show, YOUNG LADY AND GENTLEMAN seems to have started slow but picked up a bit on Sunday. I have a feeling that it did not receive the same level of pre-broadcast hype as REVOLUTIONARY SISTERS- which actually failed to deliver on it's hyped "murder mystery". In fact it seems to be a fairly average weekender, which to me is an improvement over REVOLUTIONARY SISTERS. While I am not going into YOUNG LADY AND GENTLEMAN with high expectations the first two episodes did deliver some very entertaining moments of both laughter and pathos.
