Lee Min-ki and Nana find love in new teaser for Oh! Master

A new video teaser has come out for MBC’s upcoming romance Oh! Master, featuring the lead actors Lee Min-ki (The Lies Within) and Nana (Memorials).

The story stars Lee Min-ki as a successful drama writer who meets A-list actress Nana in his newest project. Despite being well-versed in love stories, Lee doesn’t believe in love and chooses not to date. While Nana, on the other hand, has been single her whole life. There had never been any opportunities for romance having devoted all her time to making money and caring for her sick mother. Due to circumstances related to their new show’s production, though, the two are forced to live together. And what ensues is hijinks, of course, but real love blossoms as well.

The newly released teaser starts with a sequence of shots of Lee Min-ki’s character and the captions introduce him as: “The man who won’t date, top writer Han Bi-soo.” The next sequence showcases Nana’s character, who lovingly says, “I love you,” into the microphone on a radio show. The captions explain that she is: “The woman who can’t date, top actress Oh Joo-in.” It cuts to Lee Min-ki and Nana on an evening stroll together along a lit street. And the teaser comes to a close as text appears over the scene: “Heart pounding romance with a twist.”

Writing for the drama is Jo Jin-kook (Fated to Love You, Soulmate) and directing will be lead by PD Oh Da-young (Lookout). Romance drama Oh! Master premieres this month on March 24,  and will be airing Wednesdays and Thursdays on MBC.

So I know I said in the last article that I don't pay attention to drama promos anymore but I watched this and decided avoiding promos was a dumb idea. And look, it's cute! Such a short teaser but the bit with them walking and smiling at the end put a smile on my face. It seems warm and fun and down-to-earth.

The lead actors from my two favorite dramas doing a drama together is such an unbelievable thing that I can go ahead and be excited about it! I give myself permission! Even if it ends up being bad, I think it'll at least be fun, and definitely very pretty to look at.

I just read an interview last night where Lee Min-ki describes the show as a positive, bright, and comedic love story that also focuses on family. Despite the wide variety offered in dramaland right now, there's a romcom-shaped hole in the currently airing fare so I am definitely looking forward to this!

Positive, bright and comedic are exactly what I need.

I agree- too few rom-coms right now. VINCENZO may be fun but it is not exactly light-hearted even if it has a fair amount of real humor to it.

Yay for another romcom for Nana! Am excited about the heart pounding romance but kinda worried about the twist, it doesn't involve time travel or dead bodies, right..?

The twist is no angst. Just fun and glasses and very pretty people.

Forced to live together?

Wait, wasn't this the plot of Lee Min-ki's other drama, BTIMFL?

Cohabitation is a common romcom trope.

He also lives with Chae Rim in Dal-ja's Spring. And Eugene in I Really Really Like You... LOL. Maybe it's his favorite romcom trope.

It's popular for a reason, I guess. Not sure I've ever not found cohabitation hijinks to be at least a little fun.

It is not just the plot similarity with BTIMFL- his character seems somewhat similar as well. But Nana is very different from Jung So-min- so much so that this show may actually have a completely different texture to it.

Cohabitation is a fun trope because it is actually a much different dramatic set-up from most- there is simply more opportunity for interaction between the two characters.

reply and reply this lovely 20 seconds teaser. I bet Lee Min ki character Han Bisoo is more dynamic and expressive compare to flat Nam Sehee or stoic Seo Dojae. and he also coming from wealthy family and has a title of top writer, so it's equal status with top actress Oh Jooin. And we will get Lee Minki singing and playing guitar in drama.. yeahhh excitement level up :))
Airing and upcoming Kdrama in March-April is still full of heavy genre such as sageuk, thriller, horror, action you name it, so this light cute romcom will be sooo refreshing.

This is literally a mash up of every tired K drama trope. I sincerely hope the writing can make this Drama not a hot mess.
