Gumiho Lee Dong-wook crashes a wedding in Tale of the Nine Tailed

I can’t contain my excitement for upcoming tvN fantasy romance drama Tale of the Nine Tailed. Starring Jo Boa (Forest) and Lee Dong-wook (Hell is Other People), the drama is set in the modern era but has an ancient fairy tale twist.

Lee Dong-wook’s character is a male nine-tailed fox named Lee Yeon who has learned to live amongst humans. Originally the guardian of the Baekdu-daegan mountain range, he’s since settled in downtown Seoul where he travels to-and-from the mortal world and the afterlife, killing demons that lurk in-between. Despite his hundreds of years of knowledge and bestial instincts, he’s a mysterious character who has learned to completely assimilate into human society.

Jo Boa plays an energetic, competitive PD who specializes in making supernatural-investigative TV programs. Ever since her parents disappeared after a strange car accident 20 years ago, she’s had an unflagging passion for bizarre occurrences and ghost stories. Once she gets a whiff that a real gumiho might be in her city, she begins to pursue him relentlessly.

The recently released stills of Lee Dong-wook’s first day of filming show an intense action sequence occurring at a wedding venue. Jo Boa’s stills show her doing some hardcore investigating to follow some leads on gumiho Lee Dong-wook.

Wednesday-Thursday tvN drama Tale of the Nine Tailed, directed by Kang Shin-hyo (Children of a Lesser God, Heirs) and written by Han Woo-ri, will begin in October.

Lee Dong-wook looks gorgeous as always, can't contain my excitement either! And the days of female PD aren't over yet, let's hope this one manages to actually produce something ><

“Starring Jo Boa (Forest of Secrets)”

I didn’t know Jo Bo Ah was in FoS 😂
She was in Forest with Park Hae Jin not FoS.

I suspect most people involved with Forest would like to do a global search and replace of Forest with Forest of Secrets.

Don’t care for jo boa. My excitement is for lee dong wool, so will be checking this out. None of the upcoming dramas piqued any interest for me yet except for the jung yumi one (such an incredible actress) and Lee Jae wook one (don’t care much about go ara either but Lee Jae wook is stealing hearts left and right). Hope they come sooner than later. Fighting!

Jo Boa is really hit and miss. In Forest she was a screechy mess, but so was the script. I keep waiting for the Jo Boa who killed it in Shut Up Flower Boy Band to show up; maybe she is one of those actresses who can be good if the material is good, but who cannot rise above a bad script.

I'm excited for LDW and he looks great in this!
I'm quite indifferent towards Jo Boa and have yet to be impressed by her acting. Also *sigh* ANOTHER "cheerful, hardworking" female character? 😒

LDW alone can't convince me to watch a drama, so I'll wait to see the actual show when it airs. I'm particularly hoping for good CGI because that can really make or break a fantasy how!

I've like Jo Boa in some of her works but I was really unimpressed by her in Forest, it doesn't help that her character description makes me roll my eyes and I just KNOW she'll be super meddlesome which I am not looking forward to.

What is it with people involved with spirits and umbrellas? Is this one of those unwritten rules...or it's just a seemingly innocuous yet handy tool when needed for a fight? 🤔
