The hapless and mysterious rookies in Incheon for SBS’s Fox Bride Star

Curiouser and curiouser. I haven’t been paying much attention so far to upcoming SBS melodrama Fox Bride Star, also called Where Stars Land, in spite of its pretty stellar cast which includes Lee Je-hoon (Tomorrow With You), Chae Soo-bin (I’m Not a Robot), Lee Dong-gun (Seven Day Queen), and Kim Ji-soo (Hwayugi). I like a good workplace drama, but it wasn’t really until these recent teasers released that I really looked forward to the show starting.

The basic premise of the show centers around Chae Soo-bin and Lee Je-hoon, who both play rookie customer service employees at Incheon International Airport. Chae Soo-bin’s character has been an employee at the airport for a year longer than Lee Je-hoon’s but she’s recently been transferred to the customer service department. She’s a bright, hardworking type, if a bit of a trouble magnet, according to the first trailer. She fails to talk down a belligerent passenger who kicks down a e-ticket machine, has to wrestle a woman in a bathroom, and gets attacked by a man wielding one of the line divider posts.

Lee Je-hoon’s character is much more of a mystery, and he likes to keep it that way: His primary goal is to not get “caught” by anyone. Caught doing or being what, we don’t know yet, but I’m sure it has something to do with his more-than-normal levels of strength, which we briefly see in the second trailer below, where he protects a small child from a rogue baggage cart, denting the metal in the process. People note how strange he seems, including Chae Soo-bin’s character who starts to suspect he has some kind of secret, but when asked, he stresses how much he enjoys working and being alone.

He’s probably in for a rude awakening then, as the trailer teases a fateful connection between the two leads: A voice says, “There’s no such thing as coincidence in this world. Everything that happens in this life has a reason.” Both teasers end as Chae Soo-bin asks Lee Je-hoon whether they’ve met, and remarks that she’s become curious about him.

I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get to see more of Lee Dong-gun and Kim Ji-soo in these teasers, but I’m looking forward to their higher-level management roles. Reports say there’s a bit of a rivalry between the two, with her as the confident, no-nonsense customer service team leader, and him as the level-headed, friendly operations planning team leader with a hidden ambitious side. It’ll be interesting to see how they come into play with the newbies running around, putting out fires in Incheon.

SBS’s Fox Bride Star will premiere tomorrow, on October 1, and run for 40 half-hour episodes.

Wha-- wait, this is a fantasy drama? *sits up in attention* I thought it was a sort of melo romance set in an airport...

Silly me, of course it's a fantasy romance. Lee Je-hoon's perfect nose alone gives away that he's a divine being.

This is honestly the October drama I've most been looking forward to. Honestly this is the first hint I've seen that there's a fantastic element to the story--I'm more ok with it than I thought I'd be, maybe since a lot of the dramas coming out this week are more on the "realistic" side of things?

Hmm I just have hunch from the title, Fox Bride Star.
Because you know Kdrama these day took their title too literally
*cough* #TheGhostDetective *chough*

It can't be just ordinary drama about people working at airport.
Lee Je Hoon could be some kind of Alien or might be an Gumiho from the star that fall down to earth to find his bride.

In his mission he can not let people now his true identity. That's why he choose to work on the airport. Thousand people come and go, so it will be perfect place to go undercover.

Hahahaha whatever Lee je Hoon might be, I just can wait to see him tonight...

OMG, I love the posters! Don't know why, but I find them super cool. Maybe it's the colour; all sunset-ish/dawn and the way the characters are looking up at the sky, not anxiously and moody, but like they're contemplating their futures or reflecting about their lives, especially Kim Ji Soo's poster.

Lol, look at Lee Je Hoon and Soo Bin's suits, so ill-fiting and cheap looking, it's perfect! They look like rookies indeed. And who else is getting shades of Kim Soo Hyun in the stills of Lee Je Hoon with that haircut?
I'm currently watching Seven Day Queen so I'm looking forward to Lee Dung Gun in this. Kim Ji Soo looks fierce and capable.

Even though I've only watched Chae Soo Bin in Sassy Go Go, I'm happy for her success.

Is it too much to hope that Chae Soo Bin's character be a bad ass that takes no shit....

I thought this was going to be a slice-of-life drama set in an airport. And that Lee Je-hoon's character was someone who wanted to be a pilot but had bad eyesight?

Now I'm thinking that maybe he couldn't become a pilot because he's... not human? My Pilot From Another Star? Or My Pilot is a Gumiho? Neither one would make you get on the plane, so I can understand the recruitment panel's decision.

Or is it possible that he's so strong that he couldn't use the control stick without breaking it?

I'll admit to being confused and intrigued. Intrigued enough to watch it maybe

I kinda wanted it to be a slice of life drama about two people who are new at their job and start to get better at it. The fantasy aspect is new info to me but the cast is too solid for me to be disappointed. I’ve missed Lee Je Hoon and Chae Soo Bin and that’s all that matters at this point.

What it's airing today already?! 😭
How am I gonna find the time to watch all these dramas? There are 3 new dramas this week (I think) and I wanna watch them all, plus The Best Divorce next week, which is also on my radar.

Why are all my faves headlining dramas at the SAME time, when I don't have much time? Seo Ji-sub, Seo In-guk, Lee Min-ki, Lee Je-hoon, Bae Doo-na! Someone make me a time machine.

Have we ever seen Lee Je hoon in a romantic lead? I was beginning to wonder if he had some kind of objection to them.

It's curious that Lee Donggun is now relegated to second lead. His last drama is also a daily one.

WHERE STARS LAND is one of the new dramas I have had my eye on and I am pleased it will be available on Viki.
I never really warmed up to Chae Soo-bin's Dan-ah in STRONGEST DELIVERYMAN. Maybe because I thought she was a little too rough physically with Kang-soo. Now I did enjoy her portrayals of Ji-ah/Aji3 in I AM NOT A ROBOT.
Lee Je-hoon was lead in the great SIGNAL and that is all I need to know so I am in on his new drama.
