Drama viewership ratings for the week of Sept. 11-17, 2017

Though School 2017 didn’t leave big shoes to fill in terms of numbers, surprisingly, short-run series Lingerie Girls’ Generation pulled in a decent 4.8% by its second episode. Of course, Falsify finished its run at a high (these days, anyway) 12.4%, leaving The King Loves stuck firmly in the middle. I am a bit surprised about the latter, since things have really been picking up lately—but that only rewards the viewer who’s been sticking with the show, so I can see where it might not be enough to pick up new viewers at this late stage of the game.

While Manhole and Criminal Minds continue to pull in about the same numbers each week, it’s Hospital Ship that’s knocking everything else out of the water (sorry), though again, it’s strange to consider not-even-teen digits as being the high end of the spectrum. It’s clearly on the uptick though, so maybe it won’t be content to stop at just under 13%, and maybe it’ll try a bit harder to earn those numbers going forward.

Over on the weekend, Age of Youth 2 is actually managing to rise in numbers (yay!), while Live Up to Your Name continues to earn the highest among the weekend cable shows. Rescue Me continues to do decently, though I can’t help but wish that it would pull in even better numbers to reward its talented cast. But you can’t win ’em all.

Happy for Age of Youth! Sad for the subs that takes days. It's challenging my non-existent Korean skills.

I can't wait for manhole to be put out of its misery as well as the end of reunited worlds.

Despite popular opinion, I'm enjoying Hospital Ship so I'm glad its numbers are rising.
I'll admit it was slow at first but it's picking up speed (held my breath at the end of the last episode!) and so I'm firmly on board (sorry, I had to).

Yeay, rise more Age of Youth!

I think Girls Generation 1979 can keep increasing, maybe not something really high but in between 5%-6% is a possible number they can get. Next week will be finale week for TKL but don't think it will get much higher, maybe around 8%-9% which is also the similar number that I'm expecting for Temperature of Love premiere week. Good luck TOL!

Both MBC weekend drama are struggling, ackk I am worried about Jang-hyuk's drama which will follow Thief-nom, don't want it to suffer in ratings ?

Can't wait for the mon-Tue to become active again once all the new ones premiere (Temp of love, don't trust her, 20th century b&g, this live is our first).
It seems like I've been waiting forever for The king Loves, runited worlds and criminal minds to end.
Even Falsify ended first.

And now that the cast has raised my expectations, I really can't wait for Mad Dog, so that means I am waiting for Manhole to end too ??

And when is Wise Prison Life Starting ?? ??? . However if it starts after Revolutionary Love, at least I'll have some SiWon to carry me through the next 2 months ?
#Suju fighting ?

I guess next week will be the end of the 20%-dramas drought of prime-time shows with the descend of Temperature of Love and While You Were Sleeping. The days of k-dramas dry spell for everyone are over.

I feel like javabeans and girlfriday will pick up both shows to recap. ?

I think it's hard for a youth/romance saeguk like The King Loves to get high ratings unless it's headed by a popular cast. Nonetheless I am enjoying the performances from Im Si Wan, Hong Jong Hyun and Yoona. I dare say it's the best from HJH and Yoona to date.

48 hours to heartache ? or celebration ?

Just got done with "Live Up to Your Name" ep 11 and I'm super excited for ep 12 yet scared. Ep 11's cliffhanger is killing me. I hope tvN extends the drama by 2 episodes. Can't believe we are near the ending and I don't want the drama to end yet. I'm not ready to say good-bye. :(

I'm very happy for Age of Youth 2's rise in ratings. It's good to know that more people are starting to notice and appreciate Park Yeon-seon's brilliant writing. If this season does well, then perhaps there'll be more hope for subsequent seasons to be produced. It'll be a shame to part with this cast, as they're perfect for the characters.

I'm also enjoying Strongest Deliveryman and Live Up to Your Name, so the three of them pretty much take up my weekend. I started Lingerie Girls Generation out of curiosity and it seems to be a less warm version of Reply 1988. I wonder if the nostalgia factor that was so important in the ratings success of the Reply series will be at play again here, even with the different style of execution. It'll be interesting to see, and I'll certainly keep an eye on its ratings.

Ratings have stagnated,. There isn't much difference this week either.
My Golden Life is in rally mode an a bit of upswing for Age of Youth 2.
Shakeup will happen when new shows start to air.

Criminal Minds is the least commented LJK drama on dramabeans ever. Looks like no one is watching this and ratings are low too, what a failure. Still can not understand why did MCW pick it, they give her nothing to do in this drama. Literally nothing.

I read this section every week because I like the synopsis and it highlights the shows that perhaps I shouldn't miss. However, because of the timing of the report, the Sunday results are included for as far as I can remember. Can I suggest that you release the viewership report 1 day later to capture the Sunday numbers?

If you look at the competition, Hospital Ship wins those days mainly because it is not going up against any real winners.

To me it looks like people are finally tiring of the dark dramas, or romcoms that have dark overtones. I think a lot of us need happy shows.

What I learned from the CM experience was to never watch a show with Lee Sun-bin in the cast unless you're watching it only for her. Hope whatever they're making on the side for showcasing her while shoving the rest of the cast in the background was worth the ratings drop.

Hospital Ship is a good show. I am glad it's pulling in good numbers. Ha Ji Won is a force to be reckoned with in k dramas. The first few episodes were a little overly dramatic but it was starting to pick up from last week's episode. I am sensing a SLS scenario with the acupuncture doctor. IMO, he has more chemistry with Ha Ji Won than the lead guy.

I wonder if there is a guideline to what shows are in your ratings, maybe family daily dramas not included. I watch All Kinds of Daughter's in Law and it's at 8.3 to 12.4 for Monday Tuesday dramas. Really fun family drama.

I want to like Hospital Ship, so much going for it but for some reason the editing or pacing is not quite right yet. I just finished Ugly Alert (old daily drama) and it was so good that I have to take a break from watching some shows so I don't compare them too much. Going through withdrawal right now.
