Yoo Yeon-seok cast in another movie (no really)
by girlfriday
Well, when you’re hot, you’re hot.
Remember this movie? Yeah, Yoo Yeon-seok is in it too.
A quick refresher: Tailor is the Joseon-era historical film about geeeeenius royal tailors who only make robes for the royal family. Han Seok-kyu (The Berlin File) is playing the old genius and Go Soo (Empire of Gold) is playing the new genius who challenges him. Pesky young upstart geniuses. Park Shin-hye (Heirs) is set to play the queen, and Yoo Yeon-seok has been cast to play her king.
Get used to this face. I think we’re going to be seeing a lot of it from here on out.

Eeppp finally all those film casting news being translated and reported here. Thank you, Dramabeans, I love you for these triple posts full of Yoo Yeon Seok's goodness!
So he's going to play a cold king to the art lover queen played by Park Shin Hye? Ooohh I wonder if by being a character who's giving cold treatments to his own wife means this is yet another villainous character? It's okay, he can nail every character he got I have no worries in that.
Yoo Yeon Seok is the first actor who played villainous characters that I stan. All of other my biases in acting has never played villainous characters, if I remember correctly. xD

There were a few who criticized YYS's acting in AM1994 but I think he is doing a pretty good job.
The thing is, the character of Chilbongie is so laid back and nice that YYS doesn't have any scenes with "big" emotions - but he does all the little things right (slight facial expressions/changes, esp. how he is happy when he is around Na-jung or the sadness in his eyes when things aren't going his way).
But anyway, good for him.

When your ship comes in.......what a remarkable success! I'd say you have a better chance of hitting a jackpot than to cast in three movies simulaneously. Happy for him.

Holy moly! This guy is really a hot item now, isn't he? I congratulate him for finding success so quickly, but seriously, does he ever rest? Will he ever rest? I like the idea of keeping busy, but not to the detriment of his health. Yoo Yeon-seok-ssi, don't work too hard!
Anyway, I'm getting so tired of everybody being a "genius" whatever. Can't anybody just be average or below-average, or just plain ol' stink at something? Still, this sounds like it could be really funny, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be.

But... if he plays the King, doesn't it mean that he'll play a cold/uncaring role??
I thought he was good enough to pass that phase haha...
Oh well, if it's more Chilbongie, how can I resit?

LMAO! Okay, I was already gonna watch this for Park Shin Hye since she's my most fave young actress out there right now...and now YYS! HAHAHA...3 casting offer in a row...wow. He's in for a busy year in 2014!
and it looks like he completed his military training already...between the time he did Oldboy and took a break before going back into acting...so we won't be not seeing him like we are not seeing Song Joong Ki

I know indie movies take 2 weeks to film/rehearse. But I thought bigger production movies would take longer. Especially since its a joseon thing. Even if he's filming one movie per month, how the hell is he gonna fulfill all the interviews/promotions/photo shoots/ magazine shoots? AND When you're a hit I assume you have a lot of CFs to attend to right? Where is he gonna have time? Honestly?

I don't understand why some people criticized shin hye too much. Shin hye is a good actress with a pure heart, though I admit she's not good at kissing scene but so far in all the movies and dramas that I've watch where she star it's all worth it. I understand sometimes that shin hye doesn't have good roles as what other people want her to act on that level but it's not her fault, it's the writer who has given her that role and she's just following it. For me, shin hye is a good actress and I have no complain about her.
