It’s like they’re trying to raise my expectations so high that I’ll have no choice but to love the drama. Strong Woman Do Bong-soon has just released its latest promo teaser and a few more still cuts. The adorkable-looking rom-com drama is about the love triangle between the title character who is a petite lady with immense strength, a quirky oddball CEO, and a righteous police officer.

Park Bo-young (Oh My Ghostess) plays the leading lady whose touch can crumble objects and bend metal. She’s a sunny character with an appetite that’s almost as great as her strength, whose first love is her elementary school friend, played by Ji-soo (Fantastic). Her greatest aspiration is to become his ideal woman, a dainty flower-type person.

The descendant of a family endowed with superhuman strength, Do Bong-soon is part of the latest generation of women who have inherited this X chromosome-linked gene. Her ancestors were renowned for their amazing fighting prowess during the Imjin War, and songs are still sung about Park Gae-boon, the original girl-crush heroine. There’s just one drawback: If she uses her powers for personal gain or for evil, they disappear and she’ll suffer from an unlucky jinx in karmic punishment.

Despite her not-so-stellar resume, she keeps her positive attitude while working multiple part-time jobs, dreaming of a day her fateful love will come true. Due to an unforeseen incident, she reunites with her childhood crush who has now become a policeman. She also meets another man, played by Park Hyung-shik (Hwarang), who is a devilishly charming game company CEO, and somehow becomes his personal bodyguard.

In the newest still cuts, Kim Won-hae, who’s currently starring in hit office comedy Chief Kim, lays on the floor astounded by Do Bong-soon’s strength after having his face slapped by her tiny hand. Park Bo-young shows that no one should mess with Do Bong-soon when she flattens Kim Won-hae to the ground after he attempts to take her cell phone.

The teaser shows Do Bong-soon telling Park Hyung-shik not to be too disappointed if he loses to a girl, as they engage in an arm-wrestling match. He tries with all his might to no effect — she doesn’t even budge. Then in the blink of an eye, his arm is on the table, and he stares in disbelief while she blinks up at him innocently. A montage of shots show Do Bong-soon defending the weak and the helpless with her great strength. At the end, there’s a lovely sunset scene of Park Hyung-shik and Do Bong-soon gazing into each other’s eyes. The chemistry between them is so palpable that I can’t wait to watch this romance unfold.

JTBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama Strong Woman Do Bong-soon starts airing on February 24.

If it is not for Park Hyung Shik, I would have dropped Hwarang by now. I could not longer stomached seeing him butchered episode after episode ???.

I will be feasting on LoveShik in the 4th week of February ???. Monday-Tuesday with Hwarang's penultimate and finale and Friday-Saturday with Strong Woman DBS premiere episodes. Kyaaa....I will never complaint over the excess of LoveShik.

Haha, I was also thinking, "Aww, Ji-soo~" when I watched the clip above. I think Hyung-shik's a charming actor, so I have a feeling I'm gonna fall hard for the main trio if they're as cute and adorable as they sound/look. For Ji-soo's sake (and ours), maybe it's always just gonna be a one-sided love on Bong-soon's part and they'll all just become close friends once Bong-soon and CEO like each other?

I'm tired of Jisoo fans that always say this in every single article that features him not as a lead role. This happened in Sassy Go Go too.

First of all, he chose the role himself! he chose to play a second lead. And second, there is a reason they chose other actors as leads (chemistry, popularity, ability to act, suitability with the character). Why Jisoo fans always say this like Jisoo is some genius actor that no one notice and always feels the need to verify, downplay and sometime bash the other actors?

I'm not Ji Soo's fan, but tbh I never found his fans downgraded or bashed any other actor. They are mostly feeling hurt because of SLS. Well it is not only with him, it is always happen.

I do find he is not a lead material yet, but I have some reservation for Park Hyung Sik too. Nevertheless will just watch this drama simply because of PBY.

I dont think JiSoo is some genius actor. My feelings are what happens when you like an actor and you want good roles for them which in kdrama land is for them to be the lead actors so that you can root for them with the girl...or in the rare drama when there are two couples.

I didnt bash PHS. I just said i hope his character can blow my second lead syndrome away. That's all.

On one hand I agree with you. Fans only want the best roles for their favorite actors. There is nothing wrong with that. On the other hand I also understand the frustation that onib feels because I felt it too. The Jisoo doesn't get lead roles or Jisoo doesn't get the girl comments is repeated so frequently in this site that sometimes it became a little bit annoying. Just like the Leonardo di Caprio never win an oscar meme. Or the 'I thought BTS means bangtan' in almost every behind the scenes videos comments in youtube.

I'm not saying that their fans should stop. It's their rights to state an opinion after all. Just that you can expect that there will be people that feel what onib feels. :)

I 100% agree with this I simply don't get why some people feel for the second lead before the show even starts I'm hoping that jisoo doesn't fall forbing soon only because I don't wanna deal with fans with unnecessary second lead blues. I want to see romance between the OTP, bromance and friendship between these three, without anyone feel heartbroken due to unrequited love. Or just give one girl for Ji Soo..

I feel tired to see love triangle etc, if it it just for few episodes it will be alright. Then make the second lead moved on. I want to see more of stories of Bong Soon and her strength, rather than unnecessary love triangle.

I love Ji Soo.. but I don't believe he is ready as a lead material.. since I haven't seen PHs in anything I can't comment on whether he is as good as any other leads out there. But as a fan, it pinches me that he is gonna be the heart broken guy if we learn a lesson or two from second leads of kdramas so far..(as long as the show doesn't surprise us with a twist) so people just express it here. As much as you are tired of those writing about jisoo not getting lead role, the fans are tired of him not getting a lead role.. we are not bashing other actors because of him. So let's just live here peacefully!

Haha. She's so cute! I love that the girl is strong and can take care of herself, but.. I hope they don't overplay it and her strength become too over the top and too comical. I actually laughed reading the description of how Do Bong soon inherited her strength. I'm just not sure with the scene at 0:26 mark. But that's just a tiny complaint anyway. February 24th can't come soon enough!

OK the height difference ? After seeing Park Eun Bin and Lee Tae Hwan in Father I'll Take Care of You, I really love to see more OTP with height difference like that. lol.

This looks great for laugh, and PBY cannot get any cuter. I recently rewatched some scenes of OMG (i really miss him with JJS though). I hope this drama will do well. #prayhard

And since Kim Seul Gi is practically did cameos for many drama, can we get her cameo in this drama too? I don't mind to see two tiny and strong girls in this drama. Not kind of cameo like Yoo Ah In in DOTS, but cameo like JJS did in Mermaid will do???

I love Park Bo-young so much! I have been so looking forward to this show ever since they announced the cast! She was so great in Oh my Ghostess and I really enjoyed her chemistry with Jo Jung-seok. For someone who had her first on screen kiss in that drama, she was miles ahead of her contemporaries in the "enjoying kisses" believability department. Park Hyung-sik is so freaking cute and can bring the sexy in spades (I really liked him in High Society), I am expecting some heat in this romance! JTBC dont let me down!!

I am going to watch this for Park Hyung Sik. He is so good in Hwarang that it frustrates me that his character being downplayed significantly in the later half of the drama.

And it's funny to hear them pronouncing the word as "King Kung" instead of "King Kong". It sounds weird but funnily cute.

Have you met him personally to spout such lies?!? Because I had and only have good things to say about him. He has been nothing but sweet to me. And I'm certainly not the only one to think that way...You should also read/see the different comments/fan accounts/videos taken from fans who are meeting him on a regular basis. They'd all agree to say he's a nice guy. For instance, at events, he's one to stop his car, roll the window down and talk casually with his fans...he's friendly. His peers feel the same way about him, they even praised Hyungsik for being diligent in his work. He's a hardworking guy. What's not to like about him? Why the hate seriously?

That's why I'm not sure where you're coming from with your ugly comment...if it's just because you don't like his face or his newly found popularity, that's really petty...you can dislike his acting all you want but please refrain from spreading slander about him, that's disgusting.

Il be honest n admit i wasnt a fan of PHS when he first started.then i saw his character had alot of great chemistry with Nam ji hyun in what happens to my family. I also watch when the cast attended Happy together. Thats when i finally put aside my preconceived notions. I realise hes not just another idol actor. This guy enjoys acting, enjoys the learning process, enjoy meeting new actors esp his sunbaes. His costars praise him for being onset early and stayed even when hes not filming, either watching the production team work or cheering his costars. The warmth when he does display in a character is efortless cause thats him in real life too. While i still thk theres lots of room for improvement in acting, im glad a hardworking person like him in given chances to grow n improve. From his gaze it feels he has hit it off with park bo young already. Thrill n excited to see this drama!

Unless you know him personally, how do you know his RL personality?

I don't know him either but I have met him before. He is a very sweet person and even asked for my name so that he could write my name when I asked for his signature in the street.

And all his peers and seniors always praised him for being polite and diligent. His peers like Jang Hyuk, Kim Soo Ro even called their friends to ask for their favour to take care of him when Hyungsik was filming musicals with their friends. And not to mention, out of the 4 hwarangs that were being interviewed, 3 of them chose Hyungsik to be the one that they will want to introduce to their sisters. They all chose him because they think he is a very sincere and gentle person who will take good care of their sister

i am honestly so so so excited. she's so amazing and they look like they have a lot of chemistry (know nothing about him. hopefully he's good at his job.) beyond that, the story is refreshing and i hope it'll be like protect the boss (not in terms of tone/theme or even writing) where she doesn't take nonsense from men (like...grabbing...) and everyone lives their own lives the way they want to live it.
