Jeon Tae-soo for High Cut

Jeon Tae-soo has just come off his stint on Sungkyunkwan Scandal as resident eyeball-popping, deathbeam-glaring villain, Ha In-soo, and before he transitions into his next role, he decided to stop on by High Cut for what can only be described as…a strange idea, gone stranger.

He looks like his noona Ha Ji-won dressed him up for fun in their mother’s clothes…only maybe they were both drunk at the time. He totally rocks the photo shoot, because his face is pitch perfect with every look. It’s just that the look is so…whack.

The concept for the shoot was hair-centric (if you couldn’t already tell by the crazy ‘dos), and Aveda made him up in four different looks, the titles of which are going to crack you up. The first style, above, is called “Dandy Slick.” I think that pretty much speaks for itself, although I don’t know anyone who isn’t in the mafia who would wear that look. It should be called “Lil’ Tony meets Liza Minelli.”

The second style is called “Lovely Perm,” which yeah…not so much. It’s probably made worse by the fact that the big hair is competing with the big fur, but I’m fairly certain that “Cruella deVille” is what they’re conjuring here. [Um… Imma go on record to say that the perm maybe… just a little bit… doesn’t look so horrible? I mean, it’s whacked out beyond belief, but he kinda looks really hot in it. Then again, I AM the girl who lost interest in Playful Kiss’s Seung-jo once he ditched the bird’s-nest ‘do… -jb]

The third one is “Unbalanced Mohican”…which could either be offensive, or misappropriated. I’m gonna go with misappropriated. [It’s like they meant “unbalanced” in one way… without knowing that the OTHER way seems much more apropos. Sure the thing is lopsided literally — but it also kinda looks like he might come after you with his crazy eyes and hatchet. Just as soon as he bothers to pull his hands out of his pockets, get over his ennui, and start caring about, oh, anything at all. -jb] The leopard-knit sweater is nutty in and of itself, but the bowtie somehow makes it full of just enough whimsy. But the hair? That’s just WRONG, yo.

The last look is by far the least crazy. But it’s called, “Natural Volume” [though it should be called Wedding Chic by Flock of Seagulls -jb], which just makes me laugh. Whose hair is naturally that voluminous? It looks pretty in the picture, but if he were standing in front me me with that hair, I’d think he was nine feet tall. I really dig the profile shot though, and have been generally loving the toned-down version of this hairstyle on Kim Jae-wook and Hyun Bin these days. Way to bring it around in the end, buddy.

It IS interesting (and sometimes uncomfortable) that he looks so much like his sister, but still, what a handsome guy. He reminds me of Joo Jin Mo in the first picture. I agree, the up-swept look is great on these guys with such angular faces, but I'm not sure I'd feel the practicality of it in real life, haha.

I wonder why High Cut always have this wacky concept of photo shots. Look what they did to Ah In way back. I like the one Cosmo did on Hyun Bin because I love when men looks like that and can appreciate their "manliness"

On the other hand..it looks nice to see In soo with his hair rather than seeing him with his SKKS get up.

i like him the best in the last photo. not sure about the rest....especially the first and the last. its like a makeover gone wrong. and oh, was i the only one hoping he'd fall for kim yoon shik in sks? that would've been all kinds of awesomness.

What a dashing reptile!

1st Photo: I would have cowered on my seat had it not been for the wowses. And it's confirmed! The eyebrows point upwards - In-Soo or not In-Soo. (I've been wondering about that the whole season. Apparently, I never bothered to google his non-Sungkyunkwan pics.)

2nd & 3rd photos are so in tune with National Geographic's Great Migrations: bird's nest, fur, leopard print... dashed with tribesman's hair. and wild plants.

Last photo: '"Natural Volume" which just makes me laugh.'
I so agree! Even bedheads can't achieve that height after 48 hours of sleep. (I know one who does.)

In-Soo to Cho-sun: Sorry for being late on our wedding day, my dear. On my way, I've been harassed by chimps. I'm suspecting Daddy Ha sent them. I didn't bother to comb it neat, cuz at the end of the day it's gonna wind up this way, anyhoo.

Poor dude. He does look like his big sister but I wonder if that makes him want to roll his eyes... It might take a while before he can completely "detach" himself from his sister's noteworthy fame.

The hairstyles... are very interesting to say the least. I like his coy smile in the second picture and the hair in the third, although that sweater makes me want to scratch my arm. I wonder if he was comfortable.

I do like the second picture because it gives me really naughty thoughts, like he's some sort of 19th-century ladies' man in his big fur coat trying to seduce me. And, uh, it's totally working. *_*

And I love his profile in the fourth shot. I kind of adore his nose. <3

But whoever came up with the 3rd picture needs to be SHOT. I mean, what the hell?? Maybe if his hair weren't so insane it could be passable, but even that's stretching it.

Glad to see him stopped making "snake eyes" and "eye popping" and looks like a regular guy. However, the hairstyles are so silly. He looks like he got his finger caught in an electric socket or ran into a wind tunnel. I hope he gets out of a rut of playing villains. Good to see him out of SSK clothes, but the hairstyles are bizarre. Maybe in his next role he play a normal person and not a giant size pain in the rear psycho? He is So lucky to have Ha Ji Won as his sister. Love them both.

Mmmm... I'm totally with javabeans on the perm thing. I like the one in this photo shoot, and I also NEVER found Kim Hyun-joong the slightest bit appealing until he got that perm in Playful Kiss. Also, doesn't anyone else think Lee Min-ho is much more attractive with his goofy perm?

Loved him in Sungkyunkwan Scandal. You really can't miss his presence. I would have hoped that his character was developed further and we could have seen a softening somewhere before the ending :)
