Although he's been "useless" in most episodes, but I like his characters for the last 10 episodes when he finally could deal with "Okay, I'm dying. Now, I have to do what I always wanted to do...." With his absence, the family has finally realized how they'd been ignoring him all the years regardless what he's done to his family.
