I loved it. I cried the whole last episode because I will be parting with my favourite show ever. I truly loved the chemistry between Shin Mina and KYD, and it held up till the end.
I know a lot of people may think that SHY decision to let Ji-Uk go was weird, but I thought it was perfectly realistic and made a lot of sense on her character’s part. She still doesn’t know whether Ji-Uk is staying with her because of his obligations, and she’s someone who has been accustomed to letting people go. It might have been a self-centred decision, but I’d argue Ji-Uk needed that too, because it’s very possible for him to have been confused with feelings of duty and love.
And so it makes that last scene, where he has travelled the world, he has seen so many things that hasn’t before, that he still decides to return to SHY all the more heartwarming and melancholy. And SHY welcomed him back, just as she always would have been. TBH, it didn’t seem like a goodbye on SHY’s part, it was more like a “I want you to live your life without thinking of your duties. And if you still like me, I’ll be there”. I feel like Ji-Uk knew that too, so that’s why he didn’t say anything, because he knew he needed that too.
Idk, I thought that that was a very realistic and pragmatic choice on SHY’s part and Ji-Uk accepted that too. I cried so so hard because I thought it was executed so well. Sometimes you just want to be with a person, but loving them also means letting them go. And for their love story, they came back together.
Thank you for this.
To me the whole ‘he came to get married’ threw me off from what was intended.
I would have liked if he just came back home without that misunderstanding.
I loved Hae Young and Ji Wook so much too! Which is why I’m still so mad (24 hours later 😂) that they essentially became 2nd leads in their own show in the last episode!

I only came back to where I left my heart.”
