Beanies, I have huge question as how come highschoolers in K-drama allowed to ride bike on their own but not driving cars?

You have to get a license to drive a car, and I’m not sure what the legal driving age is in Korea, but that’s also a factor. Additionally, many of the families portrayed in Kdrama’s don’t appear to even own a car.

With the help of Google I found that legal age for driving is 18 and for riding bike is 16.

Do you mean a motorbike or scooter? Ahh, I understand your question better now.

Thanks mano, though I wonder why Korean need to differentiate legal age for riding bikes and driving cars

Because you can drive faster in a car than on a scooter. It’s more or less the same here in Germany…
And a drivers license is also much more expensive than in USA, because you need actual driving lessons (20h or so)…

For Canada (and I’m sure the U.S. as well, but correct me if I am wrong), driving different types of vehicles—and for commercial vs. Other reasons— requires different types of licenses i.e. There’s different licenses depending if you are getting one to drive a regular car vs. a commercial truck vs. a city/school bus vs. a motorcycle license
