I was pleasantly surprised at Jackie Chan’s role in The Foreigner, being more familiar with his action packed movies of the past. He manages to emote more and portray a grieving father gunning for revenge. Maybe as he gets older, he can focus more on these types of movies instead of the action packed ones. This is a really nice movie.
Ooooh, you should watch Shinjuku Incident (2009) and A New Police Story (2004), both quite old films of Jackie and both really really good. Completely different from Hollywood Jackie Chan. I think he’s quite well known for dramatic roles when it comes to his domestic (Hong Kong based) movies and I think The Foreigner is his first “foreign” drama film ^^
I watched A New Police Story, but I don’t think I have caught Shinjuku Incident. I will watch that. Thank you for the recommendation. Dramatic Jackie Chan is a nice change from the action one.
