I do like that in the novel their kiss at the hospital comes after they agree to get back together and it’s mutual, rather than the drama where it’s honestly verging on assault.
That being said, adult Jiang Chen in the novel is somehow more obnoxious than in the drama. You ask to get back together then immediately give Xiaoxi a list of chores you want her to do for you? I’m sure there are cultural differences at play but like… come on.

They really did change a whole lot for the drama adaption, huh.
