Done with Part 2 of Doctor John Medicap for Episode 5-8! This one is more philosophical than pure medical science. To Live a Full Life and To Die a Good Death? Let’s start talking about it now.
Good job, michykdrama! I’m a big supporter of AMD/DNRs and wish everyone knew about them. I recently had a knee replacement and the hospital wouldn’t do the surgery unless I had and AMD on file. It was a bit disconcerting to prepare the AMD when I was having such a non-life-threatening procedure but I really want it on file so that things go the way I want should I require that kind of decision. My friends and family are all informed and have copies of my AMD/DNR.
That’s great. I wish more patients were like you. I’m going for major surgery soon so I’m in the process of getting an AMD. But the good thing is that my husband knows very well what I want because we’ve talked about it before. But just so that there is no confusion (and interfering from “well meaning” older relatives), I’m still getting one done.
Oh! Also, I forgot to ask if you’ve heard about it this film, “The Farewell”? Very pertinent to this topic. I haven’t seen it yet but am looking forward to it.
