I am not watching MOBSTER so I can’t answer your question but I have seen Um Tae-goo’s riveting performance in Netflix’s NIGHT IN PARADISE which is probably the most violent South Korean crime film I have watched and that is saying something.
The biggest thing in watching My Sweet Mobster was discovering this one hell of an actor called Um Tae-gu!
I went to check out his filmography with Taxi Driver the movie being the only other thing I’d seen him. He played a minor but memorable role there.
Next was Night In Paradise – so, so good – both him and Jeon Yeo-bin. If MSM is too sweet to your taste, NIP is an offering at the other side of the spectrum, still available at Netflix. Do you people notice his long eyelashes? The movie left a very big impression on me in capturing 3 poignant days in the life of a mobster.
I’ll start Save Me 2 in seeing so many praises of his portrayal there and FMVs.
Better late than never to know this talent. He’s obviously an actor noted in the movie world but I hope MSM opens the door for a broader career ahead.

You can’t tell me Um Tae-goo’s character in NIGHT IN PARADISE was not an audition for his role in MY SWEET MOBSTER 😉
Tho honestly NIGHT IN PARADISE is superior, the FL played by Jeon Yeo-bin yanno actually does something, like she goes full John Wick man

I have not watched, but OH MY LANTA!!! Scruffy/rough looking men—but still keeping it classy in suits— with children just speaks to my heart 🫠😍
