Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the violence and vigilante in Vincenzo. When I finished ep 20, I was reeling because the violence in Vincenzo’s ep 17 and 20 was so shocking and disturbing. It also left me confused because I didn’t know that I could ever support a vicious murder and villain like Vincenzo, but here I was, cheering for him till the end. After a few days trying to sort out my thoughts, I made peace with myself and agreed that a character like Vincenzo is befittingly needed in the corrupt world of Vincenzo the drama. But part of me still feels uneasy about the possibility of such scenario in the reality. I don’t know what state of corruption South Korean are living in, but seeing the rise of dramas like Vincenzo, Taxi Driver, or Beyond Evil makes me a bit worried about how bad it is to drive these writers to manifest their pent-up anger like this.

Read your article! IA. Super underrated. The show slowly washes over you like a warm tidal wave, and slowly seeps into you lol. I really felt the unwavering love between the FL/ML. The message was to focus on the present, and I think the ending where they said “When?”, and he replied “Today” says it all. Gah, I would love to see SMA and LJH team up again in another passionate Melo lol. A girl can dream right :D?

Good thoughts. I don’t know if I have any deep thoughts on it. It’s just over. I did like CSW in this role and I want him in a nerdy hero role again somewhere. I liked his Macguyvering in the beginning and missed that at the end.

Well said. I wonder too how there can be such an abundance of weapons and ammo in a world without food. The unending gun battles, I guess, are an attempt at The Lord of the Flies, but in spite of all the tense standoffs, there is only the thinnest thread of suspense to keep me watching (and Cho Seung-woo, of course.) I’d watch him even if I was hanging from a cliff while a nuclear explosion was going off.

I thought I might not be able to watch BE but was pleasantly surprised yesterday to find out that it is available subbed at ODK where I was able to watch THE GOOD DETECTIVE last year and TGD became one of my 2020 favorites.
I was immediately drawn into the story. Both Shin Ha-kyun and Yeo Jin-goo are terrific and have hit the ground running. Both episodes flew by. Back when BE started to get some publicity one concern of mine was the 23 year age gap between YJG (23) and SHK (46). I am not sure yet what age YJG’s character is supposed to be but he is so mature and that voice of his does give him a certain gravitas.
Is the cliffhanger ending of episode 2 a red herring? I can’t wait for episode 3.
