Noh Hee Kyung! Dear My Friends and Live are two of my favorite dramas. I love how she explores the lives, friendships, relationships of ordinary people.
Two great writers with different outlook and style. But I’m edging more towards Noh Writer-nim’s whose works capture my heart and soul (e.g. the superb Dear My Friends and Live as mentioned by @miss h)
Both are amazing shows, but I love HP more.
Plz don’t ask about all the why’s for choosing HP, bcoz I would go on and on and on… but in the millions of all the whys, one main one is; Chilbongie got the girl! ♥️
Maybe if I was forced to pick with a gun to my head it would be:…………………LIVE. HOSPITAL PLAYLIST was wonderful. One of my favorite actors played my favorites doctor (Joon-wan) in the show: Jung Kyung-ho. For a genre I place HP in ‘romantic drama’. I don’t know if that was the intent at the start but for me that is how it finished. As regards the HP image I am sure I am in the distinct minority when I say that I thought Jung-won should have followed his heart into the priesthood. (I am now ducking for cover lol.)
I am not sure why I slightly prefer LIVE and it is a couple of years ago. I am cops/crime genre guy. It was a great story. There were so many wonderful performances and I don’t recall it being heavy on romance. Then again my memory maybe shoddy. So that it my 2 cents.
Live all the way! Hospital Playlist was a good drama but for me, the story focused too much on who will end up with who. Live was amazing in its depiction of the day to day lives of cops, their struggles, friendships, relationships. The characters were so well rounded.
Father is Strange! It was funny, sweet, heartwarming, heartbreaking. I liked the whole family and their individual stories but Lee Yuri and Lee Joon and their characters were real standouts.
I’m currently re-watching City Hunter with @jaelegant and @crysta and though we are certainly amused (and still love LMH’s emo hair and spunky PMY), it hasn’t necessarily aged well. Heh. So my vote goes to Healer!
Kim Eun Sook of Goblin, Descendants of the Sun and the King Eternal Monarch vs Park Ji Eun of Crash Landing on You, You from another star and Queen of the Housewives
I love Hospital Playlist for all the friendships and that’s all I skip watch it, basically the scenes of the five docs not involving any medical stuff. I still can’t get over how this show has no purpose or end goal. Also there are just too many medical cases going on together that I still can’t care for most of them. So yeah I also reduced my expectations and only watch for the friendships or even lovelines.
The character that immediately comes to mind is Seo Yi-do from Perfume. He claimed to have like 30 different phobias and was just particular about pretty much everything. I don’t think he’d fare very well. Don’t you agree @katakwasabi?

I love Hospital Playlist to the moon and back – but objectively speaking, Live is a heart smearing drama that shakes you.
This is a case of ‘favorite’ vs ‘best’. At the end of the day, we viewers win because we get to watch two amazing dramas! Lucky us.
