I watched everyone’s part so I kind of expected him to do something cringey too and when he did, I couldn’t even bring myself to laugh because HE GOT ME GOOD. REALLY GOOD 😂 His transition to aegyo felt so f natural. Ohmygoodness, his voice ;A; I can totally related to the lady’s reaction XD Ah~ I could get use to someone speaking to me like this XDDDD

      (Ooh and, I’ve to say,your username too reminds me of food,heh. In ye’olde America,they used to use hickory wood for smoking raw meat as a preservation method. I remember from book 1 of Little house series which has been a BIG part of my childhood, that Pa Charles always said that no ham is as good as the hickory-smoked ones. As I remembered the detailed food making scenes in those books I still salivate.

        Hickory-smoked meat! I wish I had a chance to try it when I studied in US a few years ago. I like the smell and taste of Hickory-smoked BBQ sauce, the only thing I could afford of Hickory-smoked things. 😅😂😂

        It’s a nice take on my name since I love foods! 😊 Actually, hikari is a Japanese word that is the closest meaning to a part of my real name meaning. 😉

      2PM always do this ‘English talk session’ during their concerts (except in Japan I think) where each member take turn talking in English. The other members always made Junho converse one-on-one with international fans like during their last concert ‘6Nights’. 😂😂 Check out the fancams in YT if you want to see his more recent English speaking level.

      1:52 – He said he’s getting frustrated (dapdappae) and going crazy/mad (michigetta). He wanted to speak in English and that made him going crazy/mad.
      2:53 – He explained about the song he composed, ‘Love Is True’ (sing by Nichkhun and him), said that it’s a song about love (saranghae gwanhan noraeimnida).

          Welcome. 😊 I’m also learning Korean. I could understand simple words and sentences. But trying to make sentences and speak in Korean, might be worse than him in English. 😅😅

            Understanding is so much easier than speaking! Especially if I’m watching with subtitles, I’ll be able to catch words that I know that I wouldn’t normally have noticed.
            I was so impressed by Junho’s English pronunciation. He was pretty easy to understand. Sometimes when Koreans speak English in dramas, their accent is so thick I can’t understand what they’re saying at all. I’m pretty sure that’s how Koreans would feel about my Korean pronunciation though 😂
            I’m hoping to be able to understand 80-90% of a drama without subs by the end of this year. I think I currently understand around 5% so I’ve got a long way to go 😅
            What are you using to study Korean? I’m using Talk to Me in Korean. I’m almost done with level 2 😊

            @raonah, he actually fooled me at first. When he was speaking English in the other vid @hikarinmh posted, his accent and pronunciation were on point. I guess that’s attributable to him being a pretty good actor, right? He just need to learn English properly. I didn’t know that Nichkhun is Thai American. When he started talking in English, I was quite surprised. Not that I particularly care that much about K-pop. But my point is, he’s got people around him who can speak English well, so if he really wanted to learn, I think it would be awesome, especially for drama English scenes and conversing with fans.

            I learnt from Korean students before and some from here and there. I just recently found out about TTMIK so I don’t know what my level is currently. 😅😅

            I also believe that if he train to speak English properly, he’ll be good too. He got praises for his Chinese pronunciation when collaborated with Taiwanese singers before. I think his Japanese skills is the best among the members since he does Japanese activities every year. It just that English isn’t as relevant to his career at this point and he’s super busy.

            @mintful What lesson are you stuck on? Where you having trouble understanding the lesson or were you having trouble finding time to continue? I found that listening to it while I get ready in the morning is helpful for keeping me on track 🙂

            @raonah both 🙁 I just feel like I need to understand more the ones I’ve studied before continuing, because now I realised I barely used the new things that I’ve learned and kept on using the ones I’ve remembered. I tried to change that by making sentences. Slow progress by it’s there ;D

    his English pronounciations were better in their latest variety,2PM Wild Beat but still have to work on the grammar or construction.

    But I really appreciate kpop idols making an effort to speak some English when they are on tours

      Yes, he does. He may seem uncomfortable speaking English because he isn’t as fluent as the other members but he try his best.

    There’s also Hae Su in Moon Lovers who ended up with the king and the heroine in Jang Ok Jung. Apparently, in kdramas, the best and surest way to catch a king’s eye is by being a water maid. Why didn’t my parents tell me this?
