      In terms of rating, MLN didn’t really do well especially if we look at its overall performance. The series received lots of love among international fans though as it entered Netflix’s global top 10 non-English series. It was also the most talked about K-drama online in Korea in the entire month of May, according to analytics firm Good Data.

    MLN not in top 8??? Uncle was pretty good, and I loved Our Blues, 25-21, and Business Proposal ~
    I just recommended MLN to two friends who have each only watched 1 or 2 K-dramas ever. I do think it has wide appeal.

    Interesting. I am a sageuk fan and 2021 was an excellent year for the sageuk genre. For all that I watched only two on the list: MBC’s THE RED SLEEVE and MBN’s BOSSAM. I dropped RIVER WHERE THE MOON RISES after 4 episodes with the controversy and all. I may return to it.

      It’s been a long time since I watched a sageuk. Is RED SLEEVE something you personally recommend? Among the 20 series in the rankings, TAXI DRIVER was the only one I got to finish watching. I’m on episode 11 of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha but I can’t push myself to continue.

        I can recommend both THE RED SLEEVE and BOSSAM: STEAL THE FATE. In TRS both Junho and Lee Se-young were terrific. If I had to choose I think I would give the nod to BOSSSAM. Both dramas received a lot of love here. I give the nod to BOSSAM because I became a fan of Jung In-woo in HEACHI (2019) and he doesn’t disappoint in BOSSAM. This was my first Kwon Yuri drama and she was a delight. I believe it was her first sageuk and she was outstanding. Also Shin Hyun-soo was one of the leads and is one of my favorites. (He looked great in hanbok! I have a couple of pics of SHS on my fan wall).
