Production is a plus. They obviously spent money in cast and design. But writing and editing are not tight. It doesn’t need 20 episodes. Flashbacks not in the right moment.
There are too many characters, and they wanted us to emphatize in every one of them. It just doesn’t feel organic to me.
Some good moments in the series.
1. the happy ending. Can’t go wrong there. After all that fighting, I wanted smiles and love.
2. Fighting and visual sfx scenes are cool.
3. The cast. Jo In Sung just need to float in the air, and it would scream EPIC. Han Hyo Joo also bad ass. I only know her from 2D1N guesting, but she is excellent here. And everyone in the series did good, well maybe except Cha TaeHyun. Can’t believe his character still drives a bus. ☺️
The only thing I could think of while watching Cha Tae Hyun scenes was “please don’t destroy another bus”.
I think his real superpower is the ability to not get fired. Or maybe the ability to look exactly the same in every timeline (never getting old, or more like never getting young)?
I love Cha Tae-hyun too … after all he not only acted in but also directed The Big Hit. He know he has what it takes. Therefore, it was little disheartening to see everyone get a good story arc – including the NK solider – but Bungaeman’s character was the only one which was meh.
If we get a prequel or sequel I would hope for a more satisfying character arc for him.
I think I was just lazily watching till ep 9, it got better to me when Huisoo’s father’s past was shown, ep 13 -17 were good, but 18-20 were kind of boring

I’m split on Moving.

I like Cha Tae-hyun … Moving is making it hard to empathize with Bungaeman’s character.
Only thing I can commend him for is giving another character – Jung Joon Hwa – a really cool thing to do with his hand / wrist in NK.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I love CTH.
But I couldn’t connect with his character in a deep level like I did with the others. I couldn’t take him seriously.
