I think an undoing of a K-drama watching experience is the thought that someone has to be 1st and the other 2nd. At the end of the day, a show is good if all the characters work.
Even a simple cameo can make a big impact. It’s not always about who has more screen time or who ends up with who but about all these little stories coming together to add to one larger story. Not all dramas are love stories, some are just stories with love and a bunch of characters will operate on the same level of importance. Something to think about. We all have our favorites but our faves are just one part.
Yes, yes. I also think many Korean dramas enforce the OTP or some kind of dynamic duo of leads but I feel like that’s less the case as the years go by (which is why romances are not like what they used to be sometimes haha).
I’d love for people to think less about who has top billing though and more about how the story is operating. It’s a lot more fun that way too lol!

Which is why I have a hugr soft spot for ensembl casts that give no importance to such things!
I think a lot of ppl care about that BECAUSE many dramas are structured in such hierarchical ways!
