Beanie level: The Goblin’s underpants

Rescue Me 2 is going to be a drama I think about for a long time. Uhm Tae-goo is love and Uhm Tae-goo is life. 💕

Rescue Me 2, Episode 14 — “your sister calls me oppa” FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU*K YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Ewwwww. Most disgusting thing he could say to him.

I could not BELIEVE he went there!!! I had to rewind it again and again because I was so shocked lmao

I don’t have any interest in any other currently airing k-dramas, so days without Aide/Chief of Staff and Rescue Me 2 are so… empty lol

I’ve been reduced to watching youtube webdramas

Rescue Me 2, Episode 12 — Elder Choi really dropped a f*cking bomb on Pastor Sung and I’m a loss for words.

(Also found out that Aide season two airs in November. Yay!)

Watching Aide mainly because Lee Jung-jae is hot and Shin Mina is hot and I love them both… please be good 🙁

If only they’re not making it in seasons 😔

    1
    1

I’m not opposed to seasons IF they are absolutely certain that the cast will come back, quality won’t drag, etc etc like Breaking Bad. I don’t think shows with multiple seasons are terrible — they get a bad rep IMO. It’s just what’s bad is usually REALLY bad 😔

      2
      1

I have the feeling that whole drama is planned & the cast signed up etc, but they are purely filming and releasing it in two blocks of ten episodes?

If that means the entire crew get a break between grueling filming sessions, I’m all for it.

I could barely keep up with the political jargon but I was still thoroughly entertained. Shin Min Ah is incredibly hot it’s distracting.

    2
    1

Distracting and unfair, quite frankly. And let’s not even discuss Lee Jung-jae with the aviators on… 💦

RE: Rescue Me, Episode 10 – How the turntables have turned! Kim Min-chul is an asshole, but an asshole with a heart. The scene with the market owner made me cry though. So painful.

5
12

It was very sad. He’s the only who would stand up for him. People can be like that when they’re desperate.
Save Me 2 is really good. It shows how humane the characters are. Except for the creep elder Choi, all characters have their own weakness/strength and are desperate. I’m mostly curious about the pastor. He knows Elder Choi is a fraud, but he’s also desperate to get recognition within his church. The teaser looks promising, he will do the right thing.
(I hope the writer won’t pull anything crazy like Possessed. I love kdrama because it’s predictable. The good guy wins, just keep it that way)

Yes, that scene when it downed on him that he is totally alienated by this community was really powerful, but than he became his asshole self again and instead of doing something to save his sister for real, he just went to release his anger on Elder Choi, he may have heart, but in the end it’s always about “me, me, me” for Min Cheol.

    3
    3

Exactly. I can’t completely understand his actions when he goes back to his selfish behaviour after that scene.

      3
      1

I think that’s because his “good deeds” were never standing for other people, it were things that make him angry, and he just acted on his anger, after all he never really do anything for his mother but take money from her, and he stole tuition money from his sister.

      @shach @mango
This. This is why I keep watching Save Me 2. Min-cheol doesn’t change over night from grade A asshole to an earnest hero. Same goes with other characters.

      4
      2

I like that too! It’s a good contrast to Save Me with the ultimate lovable underdog Dong Chul.

        2
        0

Yes! And I actually really, really like him for that. He’s consistent. It’s frustrating, but he’s consistent.

        1
        0

I was expecting him to take the first bus to Seoul rather than going back to his house, but he’s acting in a way that only he knows how. I hope that the ending was just a ruse though, because he should know better than to act on his anger in this way by now.

      1

That was a great scene. As I wrote in my fanwall, this served as a wake-up call for Min-cheol.

    2
    1

A wake-up call, but he still has much to work on and learn. It is a starting point.

RE: Rescue Me, Episode 3 – Is it bad that when Kim Min-chul got bricked (literally) by Elder Choi, I was like “Good. It’s what he deserves!”? LOL 🙃

I was quite horrified to see such violence coming from Elder Choi. I thought he was more of a manipulative guy who orders people to use violence, not himself.

    1

Feelings about Kim Min-chul aside, I was shocked by that too BUT I had a feeling he was prone to violence (or at least not caring about hurting people) when he was driving on that rainy night/almost hit Min-chul and threatened that one guy’s wife.

      1
      1

Oh right. I just thought using violence in a public place was dangerous for his reputation but he wasn’t affected at all.

        0
        2

True true — and I wonder if he knows about Min-chul… who would believe him if he said the kind, Elder Choi (that everyone knows) beat him with a brick? Maybe he clocked him as a ne’er do well (that look in the cafe! scum recognizes scum lol) and knew that hitting him would have no effect. MAYBE.

          1
          1

Well, Min Cheol doesn’t give a good first impression so it wouldn’t be surprising if he was the one to beat up Elder Choi.

            1
            0

I wouldn’t be surprised if Elder Choi had criminal past, there is a lot of anger in his portrayal and I suspect he wasn’t always able to hold it in public. Still isn’t, but at least he waits until nobody watching.

          2
          1

I agree with you. It can explain how he gathered his minions too.

            1
            0

Me too, he was cavorting around being violent jerk and seeing him getting his comeuppance was quite satisfying. The actor portraying Elder Choi is really good, I had no doubt he will beat MC, you could sense rage bubbling under this polished surface.

    1
    1

He’s so good! I’m about to start episode 7 now, but I’m impressed/frightened by how deceptively kind and manipulative he is. He uses what is most precious to others (like the pastor and his faith) to his advantage and it’s scarily effective.

It’s been so hard to finish the k-dramas I start lately. Currently watching Tokyo Love Story (1991) to sate my thirst for dramas (and I LOVE it).

2
2

    Oh my God…
is it your first watch? I was in the 6th grade when I watched it on our local tv in 1994 (or first half of 1995?) and it killed my interest in dorama for the next 23 years. I still don’t get the ending at all. It was really hard for me then.
The soundtrack was amazing, lately I’ve been listening to it a lot.

    1
    1

Yes, first time watching! I’m on episode 9 and Kanchi is an idiot. If he couldn’t commit to loving Rika he should have never started dating her in the first place. :/ I really adore her character. The soundtrack is perfection, didn’t think anything would come close to being as fun as LA LA LA Love Song but Love Story wa Totsuzen ni comes VERY close!

Started Rescue Me 2. I think it’s been a while since I hated a main character as much as I hate Kim Min-chul! No redeeming factors whatsoever. He just sucks.

So… Kim Seo-hyung didn’t win anything for SKY Castle?
Hmm.

All caught up on The Banker. President Kang is RUTHLESS.

Yes he is. I made a joke about a kill list and then the recent episode, he had one. HA !!!!

LOL right?! Lee Hae Gon better watch his back!

      1

Yeah, I think Lee knows. He has already warned Han about Kang and what Kang did to him and his father.

But I can’t get a read on him. Is he a villain himself and setting his own revenge or will be on the side Noh.

        Ugggg, I can’t read him.

        1

He’s a lone wolf for sure, but I don’t think he’s a good guy. (And yet, I’m so attracted to him. LMAO.) His manner of “reform” is interesting; on the surface it looks like he just wants to consolidate power for himself — greedy! — but there is more to it

Forgot I don\’t have HBO anymore (changed my TV provider), which means I can\’t watch Game of Thrones and I\’m losing my minddddd

Surprised by how much I\’m really digging The Banker. I think it\’s because it reminds me of all the good parts of j-dramas (which are comfortably consistent).

Isn’t it great. I am digging the fact that the cast is career and age appropriate.

If I see one more barely 30 ‘genius’ in a senior position they have no business being in, Imma snap.

Looking forward to starting Doctor Prisoner and The Banker this weekend. Been a while since I watched a non-cable drama. But does anyone know where I can watch Possessed?

I think it’s coming to Netflix.

Update: Namgoong Min, Kim Byung-chul, and Choi Won-young are acting their pants off but I’m finding it hard to really ENJOY this drama. Not that it’s bad or anything. 🙁 Will be watching the Banker soon!

I am now a Chaebol\’s Poor Doppelganger. I\’d like to thank my family, the Pinku-Pinku Gang (and the \”So Annoying. So Handsome!\” Fan Club), Dramabeans, my fast internet connection, my HDD/SSD…

Might just be me, but my mood regarding (any) entertainment industry and its scandals will forever be: disappointed, but not surprised. At least not surprised for long. Even when it\’s a \”favorite\”.

Money, power, and fame are a dangerous mixture. It takes a certain kind of person to not get corrupted by it. Obviously those who committed crimes were not able to do so. First and foremost, I feel for the victims who were filmed without consent and “sold” to investors. It might be easy to be clouded in the disappointment you feel as a fan, but I think it will be easy to move on once you realize just how immoral the people you were once a fan of really are.

    Sincerely,
    a TVXQ fan. Hahaha. 🙁

K-pop is very interesting today. All I will say is that I don\’t believe this is a cover up for anything. That\’s unfair to the real victims. If you do scumbag things, karma will get to you eventually.

I want to watch the last episode of Trap but I\’m scared 🙃🙃🙃
