I have a controversial opinion to share.
‘I didn’t like Yeo Jin Goo’s acting in Beyond Devil’.
I have only seen him in school uniform roles where I loved him, but…
that caused me to have difficulty in accepting him in his mature roles where he mostly looked like a freshman in Big clothes.
And in Beyond Evil, he finally looked his age (well okay) and I was happy to enjoy him like that. But his acting felt off. I was wondering if it was my problem only since he is a very praised actor of his generation.
Anyway, I am eating up every vibe and expressions Shin Ha Kyun is giving off. Maybe after 3/4 eps, I will be into Yeo jin goo too.
There is a 23 year age gap between the two actors but I think YJG held his own quite nicely in the first two episodes of JTBC’s BEYOND EVIL.
I loved the first two episodes.
give the show 4-5 episodes, we will know which way it is going..
YJG is normal.. i have seen him in circle and bits here and there (Del luna a few episodes).. maybe its me.. but haven’t been wowed by his acting yet.. he is good..but not different level awesome..
on the contrary, i think this other guy from remember/ and that robot drama with chae soo bin.. he is quite versatile
A suggestion. If you would like to see YSG display some real acting chops (at age 21) I can refer you to episodes 7 and 8 (in particular) of THE CROWNED CLOWN (2019) available on Viki (US). Outstanding work. That is one reason I am a fan of his. TCC was my first YJG drama.
BEYOND EVIL is my second. I am so pleased BE is available subbed at ODK.

There’s a big gap between SHK and YJG in terms of acting prowess – but hopefully a great learning exercise for the latter.
