The thing is… say ONE word of korean and the ahjumma will launch into full on excited mode of korean which will make you feel like an idiot when you have to somehow explain, yes you know to ask “eolmayeyo?” but then you don’t actually understand numbers beyond hana, dool, seht 😅

Maybe that’s just me. Ally probably knows better.

hahahaaha so true!! Even here in Canada, whenever I go eat at a Korean family-owned restaurant ran by a sweet older couple, they assume I’m Korean as soon as I enter the door (I’m Chinese, so same features as Koreans– yellow skin, dark brown hair). If I am paying attention and think quick enough, I can answer quick enough and answer them in time correctly (i.e. Say “annyeonghasaeyo” and tell them how many people are with me), but that’s as far as I can go– I’ll need to be spoken to at a snails pace if it continues to be in Korean XD Funny enough, I can understand a Kdrama about 85-90% of the time just fine, but when it’s irl and with an elder just spit-firing things at me in Korean, I freeze up

    Where are you going?

I did Seoul, Sokcho, Andong, Daegu, Busan and Jeju.

Seoul and Jeju. I’m going for 10 days total.

If you rent a car for Jeju, you will need patience. They drive so slowly, I mean the speed limit, (they don’t really follow it).

In Jeju, Snoopy Garden was really fun and pretty!
